Lady

I took Lady into the vet this morning, and I asked the vet to check her out before he put her down and he said that her stomach had filled up with fluids and that she had a bad heart as well and she also had pneumonia which. I knew she was bad just didn't know she was that bad. While waiting on the vet to open I walked her around a bit and I sat in the car and she crawled up into my lap like she used to do and she kissed me and as I walked her she had this look that I hadn't seen in so long and she wagged her tail at me and we had to wait a bit in the exam room as the vet had to deal with something and she loved on me and then she just layed down and he examined her and she gave me a few more kisses and he came back in and asked if I wanted to stay with her and I said yes. and I held her and talked to her and she just slipped off like the grand Lady she was. I brung her back home and my dad buried her and came back in and he said he wouldn't have taken anything for her and stood there for a moment and then he said that he didn't want anymore dogs. But either way my old girl is gone.

I am so sorry that you had to put your precious Lady to sleep. May she be free of pain over the Rainbow Bridge now, just waiting for her owners to join her. RIP Lady.

Her last few moments were what loving is all about. You were brave to love her to the very last moment of her last breath - now, that's love.

Bless you in this time of grieving and missing her, may you find comfort in knowing that she is at peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss - but your Lady was greatly loved, and loving, right to the end. You freed her before she hurt too badly - try to remember that.

Gail, I'm so sorry. Lady was such a pretty girl; it's obvious you loved her as much as she loved you. It's so hard to be with them at the end, but that's what love is all about.

I am so glad you have sweet memories of your last few minutes together and I'm glad that you were with her loving on her as she passed. I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet Lady, though.

I'm so sorry you lost your dear dog. What you wrote was poetic. You were very good and brave to stay with her to the end. It was a comfort to her.

Now she is free of suffering. May time bring you comfort, knowing you gave her a good life and did all you could for her.
