Opinions on this cyst/tumor/growth?

My Ziggy has some kind of cyst or tumor or SOMETHING growing beneath his left eye. I've noticed it since late last summer and it's had a fairly moderate rate of growth. I am going to take him in and see about it, but thought I'd get your opinions, too.

First, a photo so you can see where it's located. It is between my fingers:

Any ideas, as I'm pretty nervous, in light of his family history.

We had a cat that had a number of things that looked a lot like that. They were essentially sebaceous cysts that the vet could clean out or that opened on their own. I hope that's all it is.

Yep, I can see it. I really dont know because I don't know what a tumor would look like. My moms cat had a cyst removed from her neck area. Lets hope that Mike is right, and it is a cyst.

I know its easy to panic but it could just as easily be a cyst. I sure hope it is.

Thanks, both of you. I have an appt for 10:30 tomorrow morning, with my trusted vet. I'll follow his recommendations.

Poor Ziggy. He hates car rides.

I haven't seen that before in a cat. So I can't tell you what it is. I hope everything turns out ok, and that it's nothing serious when you take him to the vet.
