Medicine Side Effects

Hello!

My cat, Hank, was on Prazosin for 2 1/2 weeks. We took him off of it because we noticed that he was leaking pee while he was sleeping because the muscle relaxer had him so relaxed. Does anyone know how long it takes for medicine to leave a cat's body? He seem to do better and then next thing I know - he's doing it again. Sometimes I think it's because he can still smell it - so I clean the item again!

You should call and check with your vet.

another source could be the companion animal PDA ( google can help cause I do not know the link right off )

I know I was told that the older the cat, the longer it can take for meds to both take effect and likewise for those effects to wear off. Also, much depends on if the cat is on more than one med at the same time. Hope you can get some answers soon.

Thanks everyone!

It did take longer for the meds to kick in, so, maybe it will take him longer for the meds to wear off. He's not peeing on my stuff every night or when I pick up his cat bed... so, I'm trying to rule out a whole bunch of things!
