There is a cat that has been horribly abused. He was left in an outdoor storage shed tied to a grocery cart for 21 days before the unit was opened and he was discovered. He has huge pressure wounds on the sides of his face and is fighting for his life at the Oregon Humane Society. 21 days without food- do you think this orange boy has a chance of making it?

Oh I just HATE people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His only chance is if he was able to eat some bugs or a mouse or two crossed his path, I think. I really don't know. But let's see if we can't drum up another TCS miracle.

Yes, shehe has a chance.

You do read now and then the most amazing cases. I had read something like that the other day. 39 days if I remember? But what and where? Memory...

The bad conclusion of this? However nice and joyful it is to read about all these who did survived and come back - this must also mean some werent found and had maany long days of dying... Both cats and people.

.............................

Sending a lot of vibes!

Here, I have an idea. Let's track down that psycho, heartless no-good piece of S*** and give him the same and a couple of these -
I honestly know I would be in jail, because if I ever caught someone abusing a cat or if I tracked down the S>O>B> I would go off on them. Since joining TCS I have read posts of some horrible abuse situations that I cannot even believe
. I am thankful for people like us and those people who rescue and try to bring back these cats from horrific, life threatening situations. I will pray for this orange boy tonight and I am so very sad for this sweet angel.
. Please orange boy guardian angels, save him.....

It's to bad when/if they find the person that did this, they won't do the exact same thing to him

I see enough abuse with the kittens and cats I rescue, I usually don't even read stories like this. I know people are cruel and what they are capable of- but this guy showed up on the local news and my heart cried for him- for the person to tie him underneath the cart so he couldn't move is inexcusable. He couldn't even bite the rope that held him which is why his face is so messed up. I hope they find the guy but I bet they don't.

And I thought I was safe by not clicking on the link.

I am physically having stomach pains, this is literally making me sick.

I hope Stefan's right, and this kitty can (and does!) make it.

Yes, I wish that the sentence for animal abuse for the abuser was an eye for an eye..... starved equals being starved, beaten - getting the @#$% beat out of them, and so on.....

I hope that this little boy can rally and come back for a new loving home....

There was the wisconsin kitty that ended up in a paper container, and was shipped (by boat) to France !!!!!!! Thirty days with no food and water, they didn't mention her being ill....

I wish that I had an eraser in my mind so that I could erase the really horrid stories from my memory... they tend to reappear when ever I am stressed or down.

for orange kitty, from a couple of other orange kitties....

Lisa and Rio

when he first showed up REALLY hungry in our barn

last summer, a year later.... ruling the roost !

AND Duncan, Curley and Slim.... those are just my orange kids.....

No, and this is a problem. The law doesnt see cruelty to animals as a peculiar serious crime. And thus, police nor the public prosecutors doesnt pay much attention to this either.

ps: A solution may perhaps be a foundation paying out prize money for every found and judged animal-wrongdoer like here?
Including dumping kittens in a box in the middle of the wood, and so on...

We had such a case in Sweden not long ago, a torturer of 20 cats and a couple of dogs too. He got 3 months, and this was seeing as statuing an example...

While anything under the mild sentence of 3 years is of course simple outrageous.

I suspect strongly the extra 2 months he did got was because:
1. He hanged up the poor body of one of the victims on the door of the local police station.
2. He send letters with very graphic descriptions to some of the owners...

So essentially he got the extras not because he was gravely cruel to the animals, but because he was cruel to the owners...

Gods wrath on all such wrongdoers!!!

So it is written, so shall it be.

As terrible as it sounds to hope...but was he purposefully tied under the cart or ended up in that position with numerous head wounds from unsuccessful attempts to escape the rope trapping him underneath ???

What is the Oregon state penalty for first- and second-degree animal neglect ? Surely there is a locker receipt in hand and the sick, twisted, coward will be hunted down like the animal he is !

"On paper" it is Level 3 Crime, but good luck making that stick. At best, they get 30-60 days in jail. I heard in Texas a man who starved a dog was sentenced to jail time 4 years and a hefty fine. The first year he was kept in solitary confinement and fed bread and water every day. That was more then his poor dog got. Very few abusers in this state go to prison or really pay for their crime if they abuse a cat or dog. Now livestock, that is a totally different story.

Here is Hurricane Charlie, when he first arrived, I didn't think he would make it. He was with us for four years and just recently was adopted into a beautiful home.

Here are his before and after pictures:

Yup and those who hurt animals will eventually hurt children. A fact that law doesn't like admitting is true.

Oh Hissy!!! Hurricane Charlie is heavenly
. You are such an amazing meowmy and I absolutely love hearing these beautiful outcomes from such a tragic start. Four years WOW. I am thankful for you and the work you do. Glad Charlie is in a new forever home.
