Hi everyone, I have been feeding my cat the wellness complete health dry food for some time and he has been doing great with it but when I opened this last bag it had a funny smell to it, usually it smells more like fish this smelled more mentally. I have been running around to every pet store in my area and they all small the same. I have brought four bags with different expirations dates too. I called my vet and they said they haven't heard anything about a recall but I'm still so worried. Paulie has so many allergies (chicken, corn, something in canned food) so I can't just switch his food to something else. If anyone has any advice for me please let me know, I am so worried. Thank you!

Thanks for your reply. The company isn't open until Monday but I will call first thing. I am nervous to feed Paulie this food until then but I don't know what else to do since he has so many allergies, some we aren't even aware of.

There are a couple of sites that keep up with recalls that might have some info, too: pet connection's blog page (petconnection.com/blog) and truthaboutpetfood.com.

If you feel at all uncomfortable with the quality / safety of the food, I'd buy something else to feed. Maybe a wet version of the same thing?

Most counties( okay I live a in a not so populated area) have a environmental office that can do some basic toxin testing

Doubt it, and it would take a while to get results, I'm pretty sure (though don't know).

I would definitely not feed something that smells off. I know you said there's a problem with something in canned food. Is your boy allergic to rice? If not, until you can get an answer on Monday, what about feeding him boiled rice and boiled chicken? Not ideal, but if he's not allergic to rice, it won't hurt him and will prevent him going hungry.

You shouldn't feed any of that food, from that 1 bag to your cat at all!
