Good morning!

My new neighbor just moved in on Wednesday, and after talking with him for a while I discovered that he's an RCMP officer. And it got me thinking:

Is anyone here involved with law enforcement, or know someone who is?

No one in my family, but we have a cop living next door. He is really nice and it is great to have him always looking out for us. And he likes cats

Local policeman, yes, I know him through my job, and he's a sweetie.

Firefighters, yes, friends.

Paramedics, yes, friends.

Used to know most of the police force in the city I do my shopping, but sadly, they, like me, are all retired save one. This came about because I worked in that town before hitting the race track, shift work and for some reason, most shift workers, cops, hospital, etc. all hung together and knew each other and more than once when I was tending bar in winters, had to be rescued by cops.

My dad was an MP in the Navy for a few years (not much else you can do with a Machinist's Mate on shore duty!), and was a private security guard for a few years after he got out. Other than that, I don't know anybody in law enforcement.

Well, the last car accident I was involved in, I made friends with the cop who came on the scene
It was just a small fender bender, no big deal... It turned out, he is a history major like me and we got to talking, and then found each other on facebook ...he's really cool and very intelligent. He is just such an easy to talk to person, I haven't ever seen his serious bad-ass side, but I'm sure he has one, otherwise I don't know how he would deal with the people he deals with every day... He's a university police officer though, and the way the accident report was written showed that they are all not your average cops.
Other than that, my best friend is a criminal justice major, so she will be working in law enforcement also.
