Something strange Midnight is doing with his mouth?

Ok I don't know if this belongs here in the health section or behavoir section?

When I'm holding Midnight, and patting his head. He'll open his mouth part way, with his tongue at the roof of his mouth, and just stay like that until I'm done patting his head. I stop patting his head, he closes his mouth. This is fairly new. He's purring the whole time. He isn't biting, he isn't growling, he isn't fighting to get down, he isn't hissing.

I'm just wondering if this is a sign something is wrong? Or if he just loves being patting on his head so much his mouth opens? Lynxx never did this, Luna doesn't, and until recently Midnight didn't.

Midnight is growing up and telling you he loves it sooooooo much when you pat his head. Now if he kept his mouth open like that all the time, then we have to look into a problem. But this is no problem at all!! You are a good meowmy

No his mouth is only open when I pat his head. Not all the time.

I'm glad to read this is normal! Like I said I've never seen a cat do this before. It's really cute. I showed my parents when I patted his head tonight. They both thought it was funny.

Hannah does that when I'm petting her head and rubbing her chin sometimes. It's so cute!

When I pet Geronimo, his tongue will stick out a little. Samurai will do that too sometimes.

It's a total relaxation into the sensation of pleasure.
