Hello all,
I have spent the last day reading through the forums. What a wonderful site!
I am a fairly new cat owner, but I grew up with cats and have loved them my entire life. I finally bought a home in 2009, thus allowing me to own cat(s)! I got my first cat before we got a couch even. She was an 8 week old tabby, the runt and last one remaining of the litter. Well, she is now 14 pounds. The vet said she needed to lose a pound or two =(
A few weeks after I got her, I came across a 10 yr old tuxedo cat that needed a home. His previous owners left him when their house was foreclosed! This wonderful lady found him on the street and eventually trapped him and got him all cleaned up and healthy. But she could not keep him as she had too many cats of her own already, so I took him in. He is super timid but the most incredibly loving soul. He sleeps on me whenever possible, though he is quite happy sleeping next to me as well. He greets me at the door every day when I come home from work. People are shocked when they learn I took in such an "old" cat, but he is the best cat ever! I personally don't understand the fuss about kittens
I recently started fostering cats. Best decision ever. I get to help and have more kitties around! Our first foster is riddled with medical issues so we still have her (since last week of December). My husband (who is not a cat person) adores her so we may end up keeping her. She is about 5 months, gray tuxedo with medium fur and a bushy tail, polydatcyl. So adorable!
In the last couple of weeks we've had several kittens running around here for a week or two at a time. They are adorable and I enjoy them immensely but I certainly appreciate the calm and quiet on the days that they are not here!
Nice to meet you all!
