I didn't see this until after Rosie's already gone to the vet. Poor girl.

She's in the best hands, though - and at least you caught it. I've asked the vet about tail fractures before, as we've had them in shelter kitties. There's little to be done about them.

Hopefully it's "nothing major" & she's back to her chatty self ASAP!

Rosie never moved from the bed other than to use her makeshift litterbox, food and water.

I went to bed to read to keep her company, and i looked over when she was sleeping and saw her give little shivers every few seconds. The last time i saw her like that was when she had just been spayed and i rang the emergency vet who said to put a blanket over her, so i got her blanket out the carrier and tucked her in and 15 minutes later she was fine.

I've hardly slept because i kept waking up every 2 hours or so to check on her
She got up after 4 this morning and went to the bottom of the bed and looked down, but it was as if she was thinking "Will i chance jumping down?!", so she came back and curled up again.

Again she's used the litterbox etc.. but she's staying in the same spot, although just before i left for work i picked up her treat box and she jumped up and came straight over for some

Do i lift her off the bed to walk around the house, or do i just leave her to rest as much as possible?!.

Oh, and she seems in a playful mood still because i put my fingers under her blanket and she was trying to grab them

Awwwww. You're taking such wonderful care of Rosie!

And it sounds like that learning mechanism is kicking in - she's sort of realizing that if she jumps from the bed, it hurts her. As long as she's got everything there, I think her instincts will keep her from jumping down until it doesn't hurt anymore.

Sending more vibes for Rosie!!

I came home from work about 25 minutes ago, and usually Rosie is sitting behind the livingroom door when she hears my key go in, but obviously she's been upstairs. I went straight up to see them because they were all up there with her, and there was Rosie sitting at the bottom of the bed waiting

She walked over to me stretching her little back legs out along the way, so of course she had to have some treats

It sounds like she is doing the best thing for her, resting and healing.

So is it best just to leave her on the bed until she feels comfortable to come down in her own, or should I lift her down to walk around?.

I think it's best to let her rest.
She's got all she needs there. And from my experience with a broken tail bone, even if you left her down, it still hurts to walk around (though I'm sure not as much as jumping). If she wants to stretch, she does have room. And you and Sophie and Jack visit her, so she's not lonely.

As long as you are watching her, you might want to let her walk around a bit to see how she is feeling.

Yeah, I would leave her there, as long as she has everything she needs, and her buddies can visit her. I think it encourages her to rest. I really do think she'll come down on her own when she feels better.

I know how you feel, Susan. I go into panic mood every time one of my FIV cats have a flare-up, or if one of them isn't themselves. .

I hope you have a speedy recovery, Rosie!
