We found a technique to feeding her, she really likes to be clean so if we put a little food on her paw she licks it off and wants more. She's ate probably about a 1/5th of a can of food, but progress is progress right?

Right, but 1/5 of a large or small can? If it is of a large can, you can do this several times a day until you feed most of that can in a day.
That is great! As long as she will eat (enough to sustain herself - aim to roughly a can a day, a little less is ok)!

Also, your vet should have a food called Hills A/D - it is more caloric and more nutritious for recovery, also much more palatable. A lot of cats who are not eating other foods go crazy for it and gobble it down. Pick some up from them. It is great for syringe feeding, or to use it like you doing - spreading on the paw... It has a great consistency for that.

Yeah that's what we are using, except it's Hills A/D critical care or something like that. We also have dryfood by the same company. She isn't too interested in it. It was about 1/5th of a normal sized can. Ill get her to eat some more tonight.

Awesome!!!
That is the one you want use. The regular can is the "large can". Aim for a can or a bit less a day. You need divide that in several meals, as this food is pretty rich... On the first day you can start with less too, say 3/4 of a can, then take her to a full can on the second day.

Is it possible she has fatty liver disease? It's something I've always had in the back of my mind. I haven't noticed any jaundice but other than that she fits almost all the symptoms. The vet said her liver enzymes weren't elevated enough to be worried about but that was on bloodwork from almost 2 weeks ago when she was still somewhat healthy, it could've progressed ALOT by then, right?

Right now she looks dreadful, with her eyes open her 3d eyelid covers half her eye, you can feel her entire spine and backbone and she's been sleeping on my bed for close to 12 hours and hasn't gotten up to do anything. I don't know how much longer she will last.

What do I do?!?!

Yes, it is possible... The treatment for fatty liver disease is feeding. You do have the right food, so feed that-aim for at least a can a day, then increase according to her weight, as she gains it back. Aside from that, run another blood test, make sure to run one that checks ALL liver enzymes. Not all hope is lost... But you have to be very proactive with feeding... There are some supplements that can help the liver regenerate as well, if that is the case. Just keep feeding feeding feeding her. I can't say that enough...

I managed to feed her around another 1/3d of the can bit by bit. Took about an hour but at the end she got close to half the can. I will use this technique and feed her as much as I can a day.

She seems like she wouldn't eat unless it was a tiny small bite size I put in front of her, after that she laid on my computer chair for a while and then walked out and drank alot of water which is suprising because she got 200 mL of SubQ fluid this morning, she was acting like she was going to maybe vomit because her stomach was making some odd movements but she hasn't yet.

She was acting strange though, she went to the bathroom and then stood near the catbox and was looking really really frail. She almost looked like she halfway fell asleep while sitting there so I picked her up and put her on a nice comfy blanket and pet her for a while. (She was purring)

I'll continue to update this thread tomorrow. Need to sleep, been a hellish day.

We couldn't find her this morning and we eventually found her hiding in the back of the closet in the bathroom and she could barely walk. She is very wobbly. Her third eyelid was covering over half her eye even when her eyes were open. We called the vet and are taking her in around 5 hours from now because there were no earlier appointments open.

I hope this is something the vet can control. I am so sorry.

Prayers for your kitty to recover.

Um I don't really know how to say this...

My kitty blossom passed last night while staying the night at the vets. They had her on oxygen, an IV, anti-biotics and a catheter, she was very comfortable but she just couldn't do it anymore. She fought so hard for so long and I'm very proud of her. They think she had a type of cancer or something neurological, we don't know. This is very hard to write.

I find comfort in the fact that she went peacefully in her sleep.

Ill miss you blossom.

I am so sorry - you both tried so hard. Your little girl is healthy and happy now, at the Bridge, and will watch over you til you can join her.
