My boyfriend and I are in a debate. He thinks I should stop feeding our three little boys soft food. I give them a mixture of soft and hard food together. They are still young and I don't want to put too much stress on their tiny little teeth and gums. They were born on April 1. So they are a little over 2 months old.

When is the appropriate time to start giving them solid food. I'm new to being a cat owner and want what is absolutely the best for my babies. Any advice here will be greatly appreciated.

You are going to get a lot of different responses from this one. All people have different foods on what to feed thier cats. I have 11 cats and none get wet food past 8 weeks unless there are special circumstances. When they are old enough to chew the food they can get as much as they need. You always want to keep them on a good quality kitten food until at least 8 months though. If I have a kitten that has a hard time chewing the dry food, I make a semi soft food by adding warm water to the dry food and letting it sit for a little while. IMO wet food makes thier breath stink, poop stink and it rots their teeth faster. I suppliment the diet with an omega 3 fatty acid and some suppliments. All of my cats are heathly as horses.
