After being turned down by quite a few rescues because we have an intact dog I posted an ad on Kijiji last night with some VERY specific requests as to what we were looking for in a cat and stated that we wanted an older kitten or full grown cat. I got TONS of responses; quite a few of the rescue groups that initially denied us, people that wanted to get rid of their cats and insisted that they would be good with dogs even though they hadn't been around them, cats that weren't up to date on shots and hadn't seen a vet in years, etc. We also got an email from a very nice gentleman that had been given a kitten a year ago by his friend, he found out that he wasn't really a cat person but was committed to keeping her unless he found the right home. We exchanged emails all day and we went to visit her tonight. We ended up bringing her home with us
I can't for the life of me remember what her name is though - Liki, Linki, something like that. I'm sure it says on her vet records which he gave us. She has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccinations (they're due again in August) and was declawed
. His friends that breed siamese had her in the litter, the rest of the kittens looked like regular siamese but she had a different pattern and they didn't think they'd be able to sell her so they gave her to him. She's quite the adorable kitty, she's exploring the apartment right now and I'm giving her some space. If she gets playing with me later tonight I'll try to get a few photos. He sent her with all of her toys (she has a HUGE collection), enough food to feed her for at least a month, tons of treats, her litter box, a mat for under her litterbox, her carrier and a little tunnel thing that she likes to lay in. He did warn us to keep the top of our fridge clear because she likes to jump up there and knock things off, lol. I suppose she gives us more of a reason to clean up after ourselves very well now
He also said that if for any reason it doesn't work out that we can bring her back there.
The dogs are in their crate for most of the night now, when we take them out later we'll put her in the studio so they don't freak her out. We'll take introductions slowly so we have the best possible outcome, but I think everything will be fine. She's so pretty, I just love her already
