Hi all

As its getting closer to valentines day, are you doing anything special this year?

Probably not. We don't get paid until the day AFTER Valentines, so if we do anything, it'll be a little late.

Other than giving each other a card, we don't do much. DH did mention going out to dinner, but we're supposed to have dinner with friends this coming Saturday night, so that night is out. And on Feb 14, I have a planning commission meeting which will run a little late. So that's out, too. I doubt we'll do much.

Aside from a trip to the cardiologist that morning (not thrilled about that) I'm not sure what I'm doing for Valentine's Day yet. Hopefully a date that night with Jack! Last Valentine's was my Nannie's viewing right before her funeral, so none of us really celebrated. Hopefully this year will be better. I did pick up a card for the bf and some of my family members yesterday.

DH and I don't really recognize "days". He is a good husband all year round and I try to let him know it all the time.

It is my grandmothers birthday though. Her middle name was Valentine.

That's interesting; my great grandmother's name was Mary E.V.. I know the E. was for Elizabeth, but have never been sure about the V. Since she was born on Valentine's Day I've always wondered if the V. was for Valentine.

Anyway, back to the thread, hoping that DH can go back to work that day, at least on limited duty, after his carpal tunnel surgeries. We don't do much anyway---cards, flowers for me, maybe a DVD for him.

Plans for dinner Saturday night. Baking sweets on V-Day so we can get all sugared up after work. Making kitty treats too

DH and I don't celebrate the little holidays because we like to travel and funnel our extra money towards vacations. We're going on a Disney cruise in March.

Hopefully going out for a meal this weekend, just waiting for my friend to text me and tell me if she can babysit. If she does it will be the first time we have ever been out for valentines day, I feel a bottle of champers coming on x

I love Valentines day, considering it's our Anniversary, we will be celebrating 13 years, but still not sure if I am cooking or we are going out!
