Who knew a cat's head could turn around like an owl to lick off profender topical???????? I read the package insert and it said that licking it off wasn't likely to HURT the cat too badly (or course, it is not exactly ideal either, now is it? Anyone else's cat do this? Am I going to have to apply topical flea/dewormer to the top of her head next time?

Tips are welcomed.

Oh yeah! Learned that lesson a while back!
Here topical flea meds and profender go well above the shoulder blades, a little above the base of the skull. I don't put on the top of their heads as it can leak into their eyes, but the shoulder blade height doesn't work here either.

Topicals go on the back of the head at the base of a cats skull. You literally have to put it the one place that no animal can groom.

None of mine have been able to lick it off.

used to run around the house in circles trying to get at it. Luna and Midnight don't really react to it. Luna just wants to get down, she doesn't like being held. Midnight just sits in our arms.

Been there, done that! Learned to do it at the base of the skull on the back of the head.

Well, she survived it and I think some of the medicine stayed put too. LOL She couldn't QUITE reach the spot, but that sure didn't keep her from trying. Lesson learned for next time!
