If any of you moms have run across an Amazon 20% off code for diapers in a parenting magazine that you will not be using, I'd gladly be able to use it for you!

PM me if you have any you won't be using. Expired ones will work as well. Diapers are crazy expensive so any little bit helps

Thanks in advance

My friend used a diaper service. She found it so much cheaper than disposable. She only used disposable if she was going out, but at home she always used the diaper service cloth.

Plus cloth is so much more environmentally friendly.

Sorry, I haven't gotten any coupons!

A few environmental engineer friends are on the fence on how much better cloth is. The diaper service cloth in particular is horrendous because they wash the cloth diapers so many times, and are polluting so much water. The amount of landfill available is endless though.

But in saying that, we use cloth (gDiapers) at home, and disposables out and about
To do cloth though, you can't have your kid in day care (they don't allow cloth), you need your own washer and dryer, an adequate way of dealing with the dirties, and the time and patience for the extra work.

I prefer them because Zoe has a sensitive bot-bot, and it works for me. And they come in cute colours
Each to their own though

Not so you would notice. When you consider the energy to wash them, plus deliver them and pick them up, and all the other considerations, researchers have found them to not be any significant amount better for the environment.

It's one of those "urban myths" that we all cling to!

I'm pretty sure all those disposables that go in the landfill are worse for the environment than washing and delivering cloth diapers and reusing them. Our whole society is based on reducing/reusing/recycling and that is the premise behind cloth diapers.

Sorry to hijack Kenz.

Have you already signed up for Amazon Mom? You get free Amazon Prime membership (essentially free two-day shipping on Amazon Prime qualified items) for a couple of months and if you use any of their diaper or other product automatic delivery deals, your membership to Amazon Prime is extended.

And Amazon Mom is 100% FREE to join.
In case you didn't already know that....

As for coupons, I haven't come across any, sorry!!

Oh yes, I have signed up! I'm just looking for the 20% off coupons because you can stack them and get a box of diapers (about 200 of them) for $2

And as far as cloth, we don't have a service in my area for that and to be quite honest, I don't have the time or energy to use them, and my daycare provider does not use them. When you have children, do you what works for you. I wasn't asking for a debate between cloth or disposables - I simply asked if anyone had an extra coupon for me to use. I'll remember not to ask next time.

To each their own.

If anyone has children and visits the peds they might have a magazine there with the coupon ;-) I have a family member who works at a peds office and if she gets the mail she gives me the code. Just take the insert out so someone doesn't try to use an already used code.

Kenz I agree depending on your life style is the type of diapers you use. I noticed you said expired works too. How does that work?

No harm in asking.

I provided an alternative suggestion based on what a friend of mine found....diaper service being cheaper and more environmentally friendly than disposable.

After I read this thread through, I googled, and found that it takes about 2000 years for disposable diapers to break down in the land fill.

I suspect there will be baby diapers in land fills for 10'000s of thousands of years because more and more Moms are choosing to go that route.
