I don't know if any of you will remember but back in October I posted about my kitty Kismet always having diarrhea problems. I got it to resolve mostly with pumpkin - but that didn't tackle the underlying issue so I decided to try and figure out what the cause was.

After 2 months of trial and error? I have discovered the cause of his tummy woes was WET FOOD! Yup! I tried SEVERAL different brands and every single one had the exact same results! The minute I removed all wet food from his diet? BLAMMO tummy problems gone!

Kismet and I were not happy to discover he could no longer eat wet food and to transition him over to 100% dry I cooked (sorry guys, I can't do raw) some chicken and pureed it so he would have something somewhat resembling wet food for the first 2 weeks.

He is now on dry - blue buffalo... and his tummy is awesome. He does now and then still have yucky tummy but that I am certain is because he has Pica and manages to sneak eat things when I am not looking.

I continue to have his little bum shaved - and he is much happier with the bum wiping now that it is "routine" In fact when he goes to the box and comes out I say "lets check yer bum!" and he trots over and lets me look if he needs a clean up

We found a woman at a local shop that loves him to pieces and she is WONDERFUL with clipping his bum for us. He takes it all like a gentleman.

We may try wet food again when he is a bit older and see if we can get it past that tummy but for now - it just makes him far too sick

I'm so glad you found your solution! As is said here often, the best food is the one your cat will eat.

For goodness sakes....you certainly found the culprit! When it comes to our little ones, we leave no stone unturned.

I'm glad that you were able to find out what was causing him to be sick, and it wasn't something serious.

Aww...he is a lucky cat that you didn't stop looking for the cause and finally found it! My cocker spaniel doesn't like having his bum shaved either, but it is a necessity with some animals. Much better than the alternative.
