Just something I've been thinking about.

I like the idea of finding coupons for groceries online and just printing the ones I will use. But it seems like you can only get 3 or so to print per page! So is it worth the cost of the ink and paper to do this?

Now if it's something good for say; Best Buy I'll do it. But for everyday use I'm thinking not so much. I need to see if I can get a subscription to just the Sunday paper instead!

What are your thoughts on this?

I print coupons. The key is to print only what you will use, rather than just choosing a site and printing every coupon offered. Ink lasts a long time in a printer and paper is cheap. Printing three coupons for a dollar off each is, in my opinion definitely saving you money, in spite of the ink and paper used.

Think about this: most copy machines charge a quarter a copy. So even if it costs you a quarter to print those three coupons (though a few cents is probably more like it), you are still ahead $2.75.

PS sometimes I inadvertently print off something I won't use, or when I get to the store I find the other brand is cheaper even with the coupon. IN that case I leave the coupon on the shelf, for someone else.

As for buying the Sunday paper, you've already spen what $2, and don't even know if the coupons included are ones you will use.

I used to do this, but no longer do--nor would I recommend it. The reason? Most of those sites require you t
o download a printing program. On my last PC, I found they also downloaded tons of viruses that were not detected nor fixed by our virus protection. We found them when I sifted through the PC to find and delete unneeded programs--because those viruses were slowing my speed down, and eventually (all 214 of them) crashed my PC.

Are you allowed to say the name of that site on here. If so, it might save some of us what you went through.

There were 3 or 4, but it was months ago, and I can't remember the names, sorry! I'm just leery of downloading anyone's special software to use websites...

This is a little off topic, but not only do I print coupons, sometimes I buy them on eBay. I have some on the way for Speck's favorite cat food, which is unfortunately a bit expensive.

I do this all the time! I have 9 cats, and this really saves me money. I only buy coupons (technically, you're paying for the time to clip and sort them, BTW, not the coupons themselves) for items I use in bulk--Friskies canned cat food and the cat litter, foods that will keep well in storage, etc. (you usually have to buy 1 type of coupon in lots of 15-20).

I also buy from www.kuntryklippers.com. I had bought their coupons on eBay, as well--but they have a lot more on their site, and the shipping usually is free, and you can just buy them outright--no bidding, like on eBay.

I've been very lucky in my experiences with this both on eBay and Kuntry Klippers. The coupons I have gotten are valid in the stores, and the shipping has been very fast.

Not sure where you shop, but you can upload coupons straight to your Kroger card now. Pretty darn handy! You just go through the coupon book online and add the ones you want!

Here is an article on coupon printing.
http://www.forthemommas.com/articles...inting-coupons

For us it is worth it. Buying extra papers for just one coupon I would use is too expensive. I do subscribe to a clipper for Friskies and coffee coupons. I find General Mills coupons on several sites that make it worth printing. Some coupons sites like Smart Source will print DO NOT DOUBLE but there are a few other with the same coupon that don't have that wording. It really depends on your printer and cost of ink along with usage of coupons.

Get a canon printer, you can use cheap chinese ink refills. The new ones can do duplex printing (both front and back).

When printing, if you print draft quality it is not only faster but uses less ink.

Or if you happen to have a laser printer, those are really cheap for prints.

I'm lazy though, so if the coupon is for less than $1, I don't bother.

I did recently use my $5 off petsmart coupon along with a $1 off wellness coupon together the last time I shopped for litter and got a free can of food.

My local store will not always take the internet coupons... codes are often bad and many times have a limit on use .... I use alot from the individual company( like Wellness in their newsletter every few weeks is one or two )... Facebook is another good way to find products you use and coupons...
