My heart just aches for you & Jasmine. I had to make that decision several times now, and most recently, last year when I had to have my beloved Maverick put to sleep after his health failed him. He fought valiantly for about a year, then lost his battle. Losing him hurt more than I ever could have imagined: he was the "love of my life" kitty and I miss him horribly. I still can't look at his pix or watch his videos without bawling.
The only thing that gives me peace is knowing that he's no longer suffering, and is happy & pain free at the Rainbow Bridge.
I won't lie to you and say it will be easy when you have to take Jasmine in on Monday, but you'll also be comforted in knowing that she will no longer suffer, and her passing will be peaceful. I'm sure she'll love you knowing that you love her enough to end her misery, and she'll be grateful to you too.
Spend as much time with her as you can these next few days, and give her all the attention & love that you have.

I had Maverick cremated, and set up a special place for him in the house as a memorial. I feel comforted knowing that he's still "with me". This may be something that you may want to consider doing.

I also had a special ring & bracelet made up to honor him which has his name & the dates engraved on them that I were all the time. I don't know if that would be anything you'd want to do, but I thought I'd mention it.

If you can't come around for awhile to talk about it, please don't feel badly about it: we'd all understand.
I felt the same way too after losing my Maverick: I still struggle with it...

I hope your heart heals soon, and I hope Jasmine's passing is peaceful.

Keith!
We've cared for a number of older cats and have had to finally make the difficult decision you are facing. For Mandy,Onyx, Bailey and Sweetie I was the last face they saw, as I petted their little heads as they crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
We've had all of our "Furry children" individually cremated and keep their ashes in a place of honor in our home!
My wife and I have decided that which ever one of us passes first, the other will have our "Kitties" placed in our casket with us.
It's clear you have done everything possible for Jasmine! You'll be in our prayers!
God Bless both of you!
Fred, Diane & Sophie

I've been wondering about what's going on, too.
I checked out the RB Bridge forum to see if he had posted a memorial thread, but didn't see one. Let us know how you're doing, Keith.

Thanks.
Maverick's memorial place is special to me, although I still have a difficult time being near it. I miss him horribly.

I too was wondering how he is... I also checked the RB area to see if he posted. I hope he just needed a bit of time away from the forums.

I have heard from Keith. He is struggling with his loss, but he is okay. I am sure when he can he will come back and post. For now, just say a prayer for him and his family. He is hurting.

Thank you for the update on Keith. It's totally understandable that he and his family are grieving. Losing a beloved pet is so difficult.

Thanks for letting us know, Barb.
I figured he needed time away. I felt the same way too after losing Maverick.

We'll be thinking of you, Keith.
Post when you are feeling up to it.

I wish so much that I had thought of something like that. We were fortunate that our most beloved Midnight
, gone 1 year ago this month, went so quickly that we immediately knew it was time. I will never, never, never stop missing him. But the memorial, the idea of his pawprints, if I had had time to think, perhaps, or read something like this beforehand... perhaps Keith will be able to take some comfort down the road from some of these ideas.

Keith is having a bad day today. I told him we know some days are worse than others. Anyway, he said when he feels better he will come back and post some pictures and try to share some. In the meantime, say a prayer for him.

Will say prayers for Keith and his family. Such a huge loss and it is so hard to deal with the emptiness in their hearts and home. We are here for you Keith.....

If you really think you may want to do something like I did for Maverick, here's the link where I got the memorial frame from:

http://gifts.personalcreations.com/g...onal+creations

And here's the link for the personalized ring:

http://jewelry.hsn.com/stainless-ste...23514&ocm=sekw

I don't recall where I got the bracelet from.
If I remember, I'll let you know.

My heart really goes out to him.
I know how difficult it was for me losing Maverick. I'm still not over it completely.

Hang in there, Keith.
It may take quite some time to heal, but you will get there - I promise.

KittKatt, thank you. Yes, I am saving those links and will explore them. Now & then I come across Midnight's
harness & leash (used late in life cause of a move) and/or one of his homemade collars. I would love to have something a little more concrete.
Keith, it sounds like you will always always have an empty place in your heart. But sometimes you have to go to the place that reminds you that you did the very best and last most loving act you could for your friend.
We'll wait to hear how you are managing.

Thanks for posting this. I showed my father. We're going to look into ordering it for
Lynxx
.

And here's the link for the personalized ring:

A couple of years ago I got a ring. I had the words "I LOVE MY CAT" engraved on it. I wore it all the time. The I love my cat was for
Lynxx
. So I don't really wear it much now. I get to sad when I look at it. I did wear it for luck for Midnight when he had to stay 2 nights at the vet. That was the last time I wore it. It's a nice ring, easy to engrave:

Also I saw some cool things there that I'm interested in.
http://www.evesaddiction.com/detail_...hers_Ring.html
The birthstones would be April for
Lynxx
, May for Luna, and August for Midnight.

They also have it for necklaces
http://www.evesaddiction.com/detail_...s_Pendant.html
and
http://www.evesaddiction.com/detail_...s_Pendant.html

Those are neat, the birthstones can be in honor of your cats, whether they are still alive or already gone.
