Hello my lovely cat friendly friends

I need your help .... im moving 0.4 miles away in 3 weeks. i have two beautiful cats, brothers, 9 years old , and have been in the same environment for 8 years where they have had complete freedom , i went to see my vet yesterday for advice as i have had terrible trouble training my boys for the big changes ahead.... this is the events so far ...

day 1: litter tray put by the back door , the boy just had a lovely dust bath.
day 2 :litter tray put back together and cat flap locked , another dust bath and they head butted the cat flap open and broke the lock !
day 3: cat flap covered in gaffer tape (several layers)... they clawed their way through.
day 4 :i gave up , and off they went . i had an appointment with the behaviourist at the vets .... we had a long chat , he gave me lots of advice ,and i left feeling optimistic , he suggested buying two litter trays so they had one each, also i bought 2 leads , wood based litter, lots of treats , i barricaded the cat flap again ... so last night the boys were crying all night and scratching , but soon went to sleep.

so this morning , ive fed them , patched up their escaping efforts , and now they are sitting around me napping ... i am so stressed about it , because we are moving so close im petrified they will come back here for food , or run away, or if they come back to home and see everything gone , will they think ive abandoned them and go somewhere else ? the vet said i have to keep them in 4-6 weeks at the new place , and then take them out on leads, but that will stress them out. the vet also suggested a herbal drug called zylekene, which is supposed to chill them out , have u heard of this drug ? ive tried feliway , but it didnt make any difference, they wont take tablets so the vet said i could sprinkle it on food. i have tried to google the drug but i cant find any reliable info.

HELP ..... this must be what a first day at school feels like !

thanks for letting me e-chew your ear.

if anyone can offer any help or advice i would be eternally grateful

Thank you so much
