Question of the day: Thurs. Feb. 3

Morning folks....

Today's question comes from reading another post where a member mentioned having to handwrite a grocery list b/c her printer was broken.

Grocery lists: do you write one/print one on the comp/use one at all?
How often do you go grocery shopping?

If I wasn't snowed in, I'd have done the bulk of my shopping this morning.

I write a menu every week and plan my shopping accordingly. I write out my list and try my best to stick to it.

I usually do most of my shopping at a local grocery store on Thursday or Friday, then on Sundays pick up the items that are cheaper at Wal Mart.

I keep a list going (written) on my refrigerator.

I go grocery shopping whenever my list gets long and I have the time. No set schedule.

But, I'm addicted to food shopping. I love finding bargains, and I love Trader Joe's. I want to live there.

I just write mine on a piece of paper. No sense wasting printer ink for that!

I don't do lists... I always know what I need to pick up. We get groceries usually every 2 weeks.

My sister usually prints it out on her computer. We get groceries about every two weeks.

I write it out, if I take one. Usually I just write if I'm planning on getting something I don't normally get. Can't imagine taking the time to actually type one out and print it from the computer, but I'm just an old fashioned kind of gal I guess.

I write out my list on recycled scraps of paper. I shop when I'm out of an essential item and pick up whatever is on the list at that time. Sometimes it's a couple of trips a week (usually on the way home from work), and sometimes its every 2 weeks.

Grocery shopping is once a week and I write my list. I tend to add things at the last minute so it's so much faster to write it down.

Once a week on Mondays after work. I always have a complete list as well as my coupons. I work from my stores weekly flyers and my menu for that week. I always have menus....I would hate to have to try to figure out what to cook every night.

No lists, unless I have forgotten something a few times which is rare and extends to stuff I seldom use like tin foil, paper towels, things like that. In summer, I shop whenever and it sometimes coincides with my gofer duties if something busts on a piece of equipment, but in winter, I sometimes don't get away for up to 3 weeks so try to get enough to last at least a month although I am now out of milk and bread and have many hours plowing before I can get out.

Well you already know my answer!

When I had a printer, I typed and printed it. I have a template on my hard drive that I use, I just add and delete from it.

Since my printer met Mr. BFI Bin (aka Trash), I've been emailing my list to myself at work and printing it there. But this week I'm on vacation, so I had to hand write it.

I typically shop once a week, sometimes every 2 weeks. On the rare occasion it's longer, like now. It's been about a month since I went out and did a proper shopping. In that time I've been to Safeway once to buy cat litter and a few things for lunches, but not a proper shopping.

I'm going shopping today (hence my list). I'm starting back on Jenny Craig, so it's going to be a large shopping.

I have to drive 30 minutes to any good stores (and I'm terribly forgetful), so I definitely need a list! I only go shopping every 3-4 weeks, so if I forget anything it's a bad situation. I just handwrite it on notebook paper, but I have a separate list for each store, and write down items as I think of them. By the time shopping day comes, it's a pretty long list.

I keep a running list on the counter. I usually shop every two weeks. I try to use coupons and save them until the items are on sale. I always take the weekly ad that comes in the paper with me.

I use an iphone app, prior to that I would hand write. I shop once a week but go to the green grocers every couple of days for fresh fruit/veg

My DH does the most of our grocery shopping. When I do go grocery shopping I either make a written list or I put one in my phone. DH uses an app on his phone.

My list is on my Blackberry..I shop way too often Sometimes every other day I'll be at the grocery store.

Type it up on the computer, add to it through out the day, then print it. Usually go shopping once a week, but most of the time forget something important and wind up stopping 2 or more times.

I shop twice a week. Once on the weekend for the bulk of my stuff and then mid-week for produce. I don't make a list but if I know I need something I'll ask DH to remind me. One of us will remember!

I write my lists to small post-it notes which I keep in my wallet. I shop when I need something or have the 'must go shopping!'-feeling.

I go to the grocery store almost every day. It's literally next to my work and I hate wasted food and it's just shopping for me so I like to go frequently. If I'm doing a big shop I write a list on a scrap of paper
