This morning, Genever was happily licking Dorothy's face, and Dorothy seemed to like the free face wash, as I posted here. Then around 5PM or so, it happened again! Genever was on the sofa, Dorothy jumped up for a face wash. My pics aren't the best, but that's how it went for a few minutes, just G-cat licking Dot's face. Dot never licked G's face.

Even on this one, where it looks like Dot's doing the licking, she wasn't. She must've just been repositioning her head.

But then, all of a sudden, Dot apparently had enough!

There was no fighting really, they just came apart like that and stared at each other for a bit, each cat kind of moving the front paws closest to the camera at each other, but neither of them hitting. That lasted so long, I think I walked away before one of them decided to leave.

In the meantime, they're still playing, chasing, and apparently while I was at school tonight, BF had BOTH OF THEM sleeping on his legs while he was relaxing on the sofa!!

Thanks! I am so happy that they're friends already in under 2 weeks!

Does anyone have any idea why it's only Dot who goes to Genever for a cleaning session? I haven't seen it go the other way yet, only Genever grooms Dorothy. Dorothy doesn't groom Genever. Also, Genever doesn't go up to Dorothy to solicit any grooming either. At least not yet...

They are so cute together!!

As soon as I am able to move out of my mom's place and into an apartment, I really want to get another cat to keep Holland company. Now that I'm working full time, it kills me to leave her alone all day long. How was Genever's temperament as an only cat? Holland is afraid of people and dogs, but the only time I've seen her around other cats was the day I adopted her. She was in the kitten room, though at nearly 5 months, she was one of the bigger ones in there. She was napping on a condo while the other little rascals were playing like crazy, so she didn't seem to be bothered by them or afraid of them. I think I'd definitely go with another smaller cat, but my biggest concern is that I will adopt another one and they'll never get along...
