I have a tortoiseshell cat. I got her at 9 weeks old. She is 2yrs now. She is the "love of my life" Since the day i brought her home she has been showered with love and affection. Thats why i cant understand why she is so afraid of everything. I mean everything! she is scared of her own shadow. She wont let anyone touch her. She acts like she has been abused. But she has not been abused. She has allways been treated with Love. I dont even raise my voice to her. She sleeps at my feet every night. But in the morning when she jumps off the bed, she creeps around the house like something is going to jump out at her. Its like she is allways scared. when people visit my house she hides under the bed till they leave. I dont understand how she can be so scared of everything when she has been raised with so much love and affection and has never been mistreated ? I love her no matter what, But i hate to see her go through her life scared to death of everything. Is there anything i can do to help her?

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Do you know what her history was for the first 9 weeks? 9 weeks is younger than recommended for seperating a kitten from its mother (12 weeks is norm), so it sounds like she was abandoned by an owner, or brought to the shelter and seperated from her siblings too early. Since it's always been this way, it sounds like she was abused somehow before you got her. That's all I can think of, since she was being raised in a house with love for years.

Awwww poor little girl
My Jack was found under a bush with his Mother and siblings at 6 weeks, so when the Cats Protection took them in they had to seperate them so they could get the kittens socialized with humans.
I adopted Jack when he was 12 weeks old, and he's nearly 3 now, but sometimes he has his moments even now when i walk in a room he'll slink his back down and walk away looking terrified, but sometimes he'll just lie and roll on his back. I couldn't pass him on the stairs without him running from me, but a couple of years ago he let stayed put and let me pass but he kept his eye on me.
Like your little girl he also hides under the duvet when ever anyone comes to the house
Other than that he's a big love bug who loves scritches and curling up on my lap. He doesn't like being picked up so i don't unless i need to clip his claws.
One tip i will give is to never stare her out. This is what i learnt when i was passing Jack on the stairs. I just kept my eyes fixed on something else but i could see he was watching me.
Do you play much with her, because then your both bonding still, or give her treats?. Hang in with her, because it'll take time still

You got her at 9 weeks old. Do you know what her life was like before you got her? Is it possible she was abused by a previous owner?

My two young sibs are just like that. They will usually run as soon as they see me walking toward them. Funny thing is, if I'm just lying on the couch minding my business, one or the other will jump up in my lap, and I'll pet them and they'll just curl up on me and go to sleep. Go figure....!
