A couple months ago I found a truck dolly outside by the trash bins. Whether it was left behind by someone or someone threw it out, I don't know. But I took it in.

I live in a one bedroom apartment and the dolly is bulky, but I figured it would come in handy.

Today I got around to gathering some stuff up for the basement storage locker: My Christmas ornament container, a storage bag of clothing, the baby gates I bought and used once, a few small appliances that I have duplicates of.

I piled it all and used the dolly to wheel it to the basement. Talk about easy!!! My back would normally be so sore that I'd be laying down right now. But I only had to sit down for a few minutes and my back feels rested again. I'm so glad that I brought that thing in. It has proven itself useful. Had I known how easy it was to move stuff with this thing, I would have bought one ages ago!

I wanted to take down 6 boxes of mason jars, and my suitcases, but I'll do that tomorrow. I want to do a few loads of laundry and make up my grocery list (I have to write it out because my printer broke
)

I wonder who would be silly enough to leave a dolly like that? They're not that cheap - you found a nice score.

I think just about everyone should have one handy. You simply never know when you or a friend/family member may need it.

I'll say! The dolly itself is pretty heavy, so it is a commercial grade one for sure. Most household use ones are rather light.

All of the stuff I took down in one load would have taken me at least 3 or 4 trips using my mini grocery cart that I keep in my apartment to help me get my trash to the dumpsters, or cart groceries up.

I left the dolly in the storage room because it really is too big to keep in my apartment. It doesn't even fit into my closet.

Tomorrow if I have the energy I'll get it and take down my luggage and those mason jars. Maybe my storage bin of fabric that I haven't looked in for years. It will free up some closet space.

Linda, how right you are! When John and I separated, I moved into an adult living condominium building. In the back entrance area they have one of those, a wagon (larger, more durable model of the kids' little red wagon) and a wheeled wire cart like some folks use for groceries. Those items are in constant demand. If I go to Costco or even grocery shopping and have 5-6 or more heavy bags, it is a breath saver. With my COPD I cannot lift or carry much so I sure appreciate it. We also each have our own water softener in our units so just carrying in those heavy bags of salt can be a chore for some of us. Especially when one considers that I'm probably the youngest person in here and I'm 64.
