Hello everyone! I was wondering if any of you liked to write, as I just joined a writing forum. I'm feeling a little alone, as I don't really know anyone on the forum yet. So, if you like to write, I'd love for you to join me!
My username is catbehaviors (like on here), so if you decide to join, you can look me up and friend me if you like. All of us TCSers could be together.

Anyway, here's a link to the forum: http://www.writingforums.com/
It's really easy to sign up, and I'd love it if you joined! Not sure if this should go in the literary section... I posted in both. A mod can delete one if this is the wrong place!

I enjoy writing, but sometimes I write well and other times I don't. It feels as though when I try hard, I tend to add too many examples and long explanations or descriptions and it tends to get boring, but if I'm just writing something random I end up writing really engagingly and people enjoy reading it, and have said things like they can visualize exactly what I'm trying to say and complimented me on my writing...

So, I like writing, but not when it's for the purpose of writing, if that makes any sense

I love writing poetry, and was pretty good at it. But I haven't written anything in years. I'd like to join but would probably feel a little intimidated.

I always loved to write. I wrote a poem that I would like to copyright. But mostly, I would love to write fiction or non.

I will check the forum out. Anything that could push me to do more writing can be a good thing!

I used to write poetry constantly when I was younger and found it to really be a form of therapy for me. I haven't written in years though. I have often thought about starting up a diary, more on random thoughts than daily activities, but I just don't really have the time anymore.

Hey everybody! Don't worry, I'm sure you won't be intimidated if you join. I'll be there as well, and I'm not that much of a writer, so we'll be together!

I love to write! My problem is, I am very slow. I constantly revise. For example, when I post a thread here, I usually edit the original post a few times for clarity.
Thank you for the invitation to join the forum. I will refer back to this thread and check into it this weekend.

Over the river and through the woods...
Well, I bit the bullet and joined. User name is the same as here, Calico2222. I'm like the rest, I love to write but haven't done it in years! I have a degree in English with a concentration in creative writing and it is a goal of mine to have at least ONE thing published before I die. The problem is, I have to actually write to have that happen! lol.

I've been promising myself to start writing everyday but so far it hasn't happened. The best thing my college professor had us do is start a writing journal and write in it once a day..either describing something we saw, or how something effected us, even if it was just how the trees looked as the wind went through them. Doing that every day really helped my brain go into that zone, if you know what I mean. And I came up with some great things that were published in our university literary journals and I read my short stories in literary symposiums. But, I got out of the habit after I graduated and now I would probably start a story with "It's was a dark and stormy night.....".

It will probably be this weekend when I have a chance to explore the forum, but I'm there for you! Just don't laugh if I post anything....

I used to write a great deal. Poems and short stories.

In the late 1980's I entered a writing contest that I saw advertised in one of the local news papers. I didn't win, but I got a letter back asking if I would be willing to expand on the story I submitted and turn it into a full length novel. I was offered a contract and advance. I told them I needed to think about it. It was the first time I had ever shown anyone my writing (outside of school that is), and I was embarrassed. When I write, I put myself into the story and draw on my own feelings/emotions, so my characters become very close to me and when someone reads my stories, I feel very exposed.

Anyway, I never did go ahead with it.

The last short story I wrote was in 2001. I just haven't been motivated to sit down and write. I got caught up in 3D graphics for awhile, and then health got in the way.

One day I may sit down and write another short story.

I'm very possessive of my writing. You can take my graphics and chop them up and claim them as your own....I don't really care. But my writing is deeply personal and because of that I don't post it for public consumption online. I have let a few people read what I write, but mostly in person and not online.

I took a children's writing course several years back, and I love to write. Have not been published, I'm a bit lacking in time and self-discipline.

Thanks for the info - I may just sign up.
