I just knew this would happen. One of my co-workers at my part-time job has two cats - Rosie and Bug. Today she came in and handed me a little wrapped-up package and said, "This is for Larry from Rosie and Bug."

It was a cute little toy, made of wood, very colorful, that's like a top. A ball in the middle, with two little "arms" coming out, that spin if they're poked and batted. I had a feeling Larry would love it.

So, I got home from work, he was immediately fascinated by it. I was thinking, "hmmm.....this is the kind of thing that will make noise in the middle of the night."

Well, I was right! 5:00 this morning, I heard him playing with this thing....it's really noisy. Normally, I sleep right through his night-time playing, because his toys don't make any noise.

But I sort of laughed, knowing I had predicted it, and it obviously wasn't bothering me too much, because I fell asleep again. Now I can't find it. I'm sure he's hidden it under something.

My cats LOVE those noisy toys. Especially the chirping ones. And, I am forever looking underneath couches, cabinets and the fridge with a flashlight as they always seem to push the favorite toys under something, it makes the thrill of the kill more fun when they think the little bugger got away...

Yes. I must remember to thank her and Rosie and Bug....from Larry.

And I did find it, pushed all the way under a bookcase.
I got it out and he immediately started playing with it again.

I love cats. It's so much fun to try and get in their little minds.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
I'm glad it didn't prevent you from getting back to sleep at least!

[size=-3]Hmmmm.... I did give my nephew a kazoo as a Christmas stocking gift (when he was about 3) just to annoy his mom.

...and when we lived in the house, we had to regularly clean out under the bookcases, the curio, and the stove for the treasure trove of toys that would collect over the course of a week.

Haha, you called it!
It's weird, I hate being woken up, whether it's in the middle of the night or by the alarm or next door construction in the morning. But when I get woken up by a cat running around, chasing a ping pong ball across the hardwood floor- NOT a quiet activity- it just makes me laugh.

Sounds like a fun toy anyway, glad Larry is enjoying it! Genever seems to prefer the simplest, cheapest toys...

Don't worry Larry will find the toy again, if he wants to
Luna is always losing toys, and then finding them again. Except 1 it was a purple ball that lit up whenever someone pawed it. I haven't seen that since late August early September, and we've looked every where.
