Stella 1/09 - 2/11

Thread Starter
Stella came into our lives after being found in the middle of the road.

She was a perpetual kitten - always so small. But oh so full of life.

She always made us laugh. She gave us so much love.

She loved to sleep beside me and Jake.

There was something special about her. I don't know what it was. But I know that I am a better person for having her in my life.

Stella had anemia, the vet could not figure out why but we took her to all her appointments and kept up with her medication every day. She fought hard when it came to pilling time - boy, she was a fighter!

Then last week, she couldn't walk. It was an aortic thrombosis that rendered her back legs useless. The vets put her on an IV and looked after her so well and she was improving.

Yesterday, something seemed off. She wasn't Stella.

Then last night, I woke up in the middle of the night to see a white cat looking at me. I initially thought it was Kahu but he was sound asleep at Jake's feet. I believe it was Stella telling me that it was time to let her go and saying goodbye.

The vet emailed this morning and said that she was not improving anymore and when we talked today, she said that it was more than likely that Stella would continue to suffer. I had a cuddle with her and I could see it in her eyes that it was time to let her go.

I love you so much my Stella Bella. You will always be my baby girl. I will always carry you with me in my heart, forever.

My heart goes out to you. Beautiful girl she was and how lucky to have you love and care for her.

My Blue passed to the Bridge yesterday age 16. He was really good with young cats and kittens. I'm sure he'll look out for Stella and play with her.

Play at the Bridge lovely Stella

and hugs to you Kiwideus.

Its never easy to let them go, but you did the right thing and I believe you are right about your vision of her last night. She will always be with you.

I saw the thread title and my heart just dropped like a rock. Kellye, I am SO sorry. I'm so glad she found her way to you and brought so much joy, and knew so much love - but I just couldn't be sadder that your little girl was with you for such a short period of time.

Rest in peace, sweet Stella.

Kellye, I'm so, so sorry that you've lost your spunky little girl, who managed to pack so much love and life into the short time given her. I don't doubt that she came to tell you she had to go. Run and play over the Bridge, Stella Bella, healthy and whole again.

Kellye, I'm so sorry for your loss. Stella was aptly named as she was a shooting star, brilliantly wonderful, but brief in your life.

Stella was an absolutely gorgeous cat. You gave her so much love and care and she had the best life possible with you as her meowmy, short as it was. I had a vision like that once. Although, it was the night after having to say goodbye to an old friend. My cat came to me too tell me to stop crying!! AND that he was soooo much better now and thanked me for saving him from more pain. He never came to visit me again, it was so real and I believe Stella came to you as a way to say, it is alright, you can let me go... I am sorry about your loss. RIP Special Stella
