Oh, how I love my silly boy. But, let me tell you, he is full of mischief and has caused me much grief over the 1+ year that he's been with me. I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world, but he managed to scare the bejeebers out of me last night!

Yesterday was just one of those days. You know the kind, right? I got home from work and crashed. Work was a whole other story, by the way. So, when it was time for me to go up and take care of the cats, I was already exhausted and not thinking straight. But, nonetheless, the kitties had to eat and so I went upstairs to feed and water them, scoop their litter boxes, and play with them for a bit. It was supposed to be an ordinary night. And, for Finn, ordinary is running around like a maniac and causing trouble. But, instead, he was lazing around. And, worse, as soon as I had a moment to catch my breath, I saw that he was going in and out of the litter box and whining. At that point, I about freaked out. We've seen a lot of UTI's and blockages at the vet clinic where I work over the last couple of weeks and I was just sure that Finnegan had something going on...

But, true to form, I had nothing to worry about. It seems that my precious, furry Finnegan was just out to cause his meowmy grief! Since I was concerned about a UTI or blockage (and was panicking at that point!) I went to the litter box where Finn was in and out of and literally picked through with the scoop and a gloved hand. I was looking for blood or something abnormal. And, what I found was certainly abnormal. After just one swipe with the scoop, I dug up the problem: Finnegan's favorite blue mouse toy! Apparently, my silly boy brought his toy in the pan with him and then buried it along with his business. It seems my prissy little boy was too afraid to muck up his paws in order to retrieve his toy and so was frantically going in and out of the litter box while whining until someone got it for him. Thank God it was nothing more than Finnegan just being his crazy, little self. But, I'll tell you, I was definitely holding my breath until I knew he was okay.

It's funny, no, hilarious now. But, I thought for sure I'd wake up with a head full of gray hair this morning. My boy is one-of-a-kind. I could've throttled him, but, instead, he and meowmy had a nice snuggle and we both slept well through the night!

Aww, that's too funny! I mean, now that we know he's alright and can laugh about it.
That would've scared me too though! The little buggers sure can make our hearts skip a beat at times, that's sure sure!

That's funny! I always wonder why they bury toys in the litterbox when they're so fussy about getting their feet dirty. When Jamie accidentally steps in a mess, he refuses to walk and wails until I come clean his foot/feet.

LOL! Toooo funny!!

Sometime in the last few years Noodles started to "hover" while doing her business instead of stepping inside the box. We have a littermaid so the edges are nice and big. She just stands on them and does what shes got to do... Of course that also means she doesn't cover it...and because it's right at the edge of the box it's harder for the automatic scooper to get it up without clogging! At least her paws are "cleaner."

Midnight takes his mr. ball to the litterbox with him. When he doesn't have his mr. ball. He just takes his sister Luna to the litterbox with him.

I'm glad that Finnegan didn't have anything serious wrong with him. But then again, losing his favorite toy to the litterbox is very serious to him. Poor kitty.

Thanks for the laugh, Finn, but don't scare your meowmy like that. Maybe he wanted to save it for later? Or make it too gross for the other furry ones to want to play with it? Well, he succeeded.
Bella once took a piece of a jigsaw puzzle I was working on and buried it in her box. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to her
