Is this good advice? (KMR for adult FIV cat)

There's a lady who runs a rescue organization in my area who shows her cats at Petsmart. She has experience with FIV cats and told me that it would be a good idea to add some KMR to my FIV cat's food for extra nutrition.

Does that sound like good advice? Does the KMR add a lot, nutrient-wise? I'm feeding him Taste of the Wild dry and Wellness wet (though I also just bought some Avoderm and Blue Buffalo wet for variety) and I add lysine to his wet food. I'm a bit worried that adding both lysine and KMR will change the flavor enough that he won't like it (I can tell that he prefers the food without lysine, but he still eats it when it's in there for now). Or is KMR really tasty to them?

I should add that he is not underweight- about 12 pounds on a medium frame, and muscular.

TIA

For a cat that needs to put on weight, it's a good idea. . .but if he's a healthy weight now, I don't see any reason for it
. The food should have all the nutrients he needs.

If he's a healthy weight, I see no benefit to KMR.

Don't think that is necessary. I think it would be good for a cat who needs extra nutrients and is very thin/sickly. Not heard of it for FIV kitty's though. And Laurie would be the one to know
