Home from dental cleanings!

Yep, both went today. Thankfully, just cleanings, nothing more noted. Anal glands expressed, and they got a urine sample out of my little girl. They had their senior panels a few weeks ago, but she was wiggling so much that the vet said to wait til the cleaning. I can't imagine why

This time they used a new anesthetic and they seemed far more alert when I got home than last time around. They were certainly unhappy when I got there - neither wanted to go into their carriers, but they could recognize my scent and I helped get them in. They seemed very happy to get home...I bet they'll even be happier when I can feed them tomorrow morning.

Gosh, my condo seemed so quiet today - I took the day off, because I was hoping they'd be early on the procedure list. Apparently a couple of emergencies came in, and mine got pushed back. I understand it, but I wanted my babies home! But I hope we have a quiet evening and everything is back to normal soon.

Good to hear that everything went well. It does feel quiet when the kitties aren't around... Hope everything is back to the old swing of things soon.

Well, it wasn't a perfectly quiet night - in a good way! Both of them were hungry and kept checking to make sure I was aware they wanted breakfast - after my errands this morning, I think I'm ready for a nice long nap.

But finally 5:00 am came and I could feed them - boy, were they happy! So far, they seem totally back to normal - although I'm cringing a little where I can see where they shaved my boy's leg for an IV. My girl's bald spot doesn't seem so evident.

Thank you for your note.

Oh I'm so glad it went well! I think we all sweat over any procedure, even when something supposedly routine. GREAT that they kept you up last night - in that "annoying but good news" way.

Thanks! I have to admit, I thought of Queen Eva and her spay...yes, even a routine procedure can go badly. I kept telling myself better to get the cleaning and get rid of the tartar and get a good dental exam, than have anything worse develop through my being too scared to get their teeth cleaned. Got to admit, their senior panels had come through with flying colors - gave me a bit of comfort.

Just got home from my hair cut - Dharma's on top of the cat tree, my Dante is on my lap - and I think we'll all go for a nap very soon!

Again, thanks - it's nice having folks who understand.
