If only they knew how lucky they are?!

They've turned their nose up in the past to fresh cod, mackeral, chicken and turkey, so last night i had some fresh trout which i lovingly poached to see if the fur kids would try?.

They sniffed it, looked up at me and walked slowly away as if i'd given them the cheapest form of cat food you could buy!!

Thanks kids, the house still stinks this morning of fish, but theres one happy fox in the back garden!!

I don't think I've heard of cats walking away.from fresh fish

That fox must feel like part of the family now haha

DH has often said that our cats are so spoiled they don't even know they're spoiled. They just think that all cats have that kind of life.

Sounds like your furkids are purrrrfectly pampurrred! (And so is Basil!)

You've hit the nail on the head!.

For non Brits, Basil Brush is a well known furry fox puppet that's been going since i was a child

I can totally relate to what you mean by how spoiled they are!! As far as fresh fish Jake too will only give it a sniff and walk away..You open a can of tuna though and he's going to climb up your legs to get to it Also, if I eat something that comes out of a packet similar to treats, like raisins or candy, he thinks his treats are the only thing that's packaged that way and starts meowing annoyingly as soon as he realizes what a disappointment it is that it's really human stuff He doesn't give up though, he comes up to smell it periodically in case it has magically transformed itself to his treats

OMG you've just described Rosie!!!. She goes crackers when i shake the can of tuna. When i shake the can at her she can tell what it is by the juice sloshing in the can

My cats are the same way. I can't even bring a can of tuna home. since the minute i place the shopping bags down they are in there trying to get the cans of tuna. Of course they inspect every shopping bag whenever I come home... I think they arelooking for TUNA.

That's hilarious about tuna. Around here when I make something with tuna, I purposely open an extra can for the cats. It's the only way they'll leave me alone!

LOL! My 2 turn their nose up at pretty much any human food but I'm not sure when the last time I offered them fresh fish was. Noodles did go bonkers for the pureed chicken I tried to feed Tressa once. It smelled nasty!!

Basil Brush! I remember him from my childhood (in New Zealand we got a lot British shows). Lucky fox, I'll bet he comes back for more.

My Wiggies is funny about food too. He has been known to turn his little nose up at steak, salmon and the like. But never a can of tuna! It's funny how quickly they learn the sound of a can of tuna opening.

"Basil" surely appreciates their pickiness! Jamie can be that way, too, but he never, ever turns down a can of tuna (for humans).

Genever is the same way! SHe hears a bag crinkling and comes running. I'll let her sniff whatever it is (usually some sort of candy), and she walks away, but keeps coming back at the crinkle bag sound.. just in case.

My nans cats Lobo is like this, she buys those tiny tins of very high quality cat food and then they have raw meat and fish, sometimes Lobo is never happy with anything, her other cat Max on the other hand gives Lobo 1 minute to eat his food and then if he doesn't Max gobbles his own food down and then all Lobos toox

My cats didn't eat any of the organ meats at Thanksgiving. I spend so much time and so lovingly made it for them....

My cats go nuts when I open a bag of croutons because they are in the same type of pouch that treats are in.

Send it over to Nora, she'll take it! The boys on the other hand, they do the same thing.

LOL You should see Walter when DH opens one of those cans of Frito Lay bean dip. He opened one last night and Walter was on him SO fast and DH couldn't peel him off of him. Nothing would convince him that it wasn't cat food. haha! It was the sound of the metal pull tab lid being pulled off. Nora has the same reaction when I eat yogurt b/c she recognizes the sound of the little foil lid being pulled off. She freaks when I have pudding (same foil lid), but she won't eat that. lol

Trout is a food snob too, sometimes she won't even eat her treats!

I don't think I've ever met a cat that didn't like fish.

Sophie won't eat treats yet she loves her kibbles, but that makes Rosie smile because it's more for her then

Tex - will eat ANYTHING. He sits on my feet while I'm prepping their food! This is the cat that jumped on the table, grabbed a 2 lb loaf of whole wheat raisin bread and dragged it away. I saved it in the nick of time.

Archie- will eat ALMOST ANYTHING. (He doesn't like mock crab! but did try to make off with my molasses cookie. )

Ghost - loves a lot of human food - including lunchmeat turkey, beef, chicken, bits of hamburger, shrimp. Will eat yogurt on occasion.

Jake - yogurt, ice cream, tuna and salmon (canned)

Prowler - ditto for brother Prow-prow.

Rex - he likes the organic roast beef I get from Whole Foods, canned human fish... hmmm.... sometimes he will eat lunchmeat turkey (I use good stuff, mind you.)

Casper - shrimp and a little turkey lunchmeat. Loves fish but I haven't tried canned tuna or salmon.

BFF canned food is a big hit in my house.

I also get "mugged" when I bring anything into the house that could remotely be edible! Or if I go in the kitchen. Or if I open a cupboard. Or the fridge.

Oh - almost forgot. .. they loved smoked, pulled pork. Couldn't believe it but they were in my face over it.

I know the feeling! I've bought T-Bone steak to share with Chynna and Abby. Both would turn their noses up at it!
