I have been sitting here petting my new cat (the rescue) and he of course rolls over so I pet his stomach (he likes his chest and tummy MASSAGED not just pet). As I am rubbing, he twists his head around and stares at me, I look down and he's just gazing at me with this intense look, then does a twist and muzzles my chest.
I have been petting him inside for 1/2 he now and he's done this sequence like 5 times.
Never had a pet that seemed to have such strong emotion in his eyes when I pet him!
Cought it on camera. He stares at me till I look down at him then gives me a nuzzle.

Me and my mountain lion. He's so big he's actually a little scary if you have never met him. Sit down with him and this happens!

But it might not hurt to let him stay out there if your kids are small enough to eat stuff off the floor. I actually saw one fall out of Mooch's tush (tmi I know) and never found it... Looked basically like rice to me! Ewww! But actually that is how I found out they had them in the first place!
. AND again he is huge. We have one cat at the shelter who could give Simba a run for his money. His name is Lion. As in mountain lion. He is a tabby, dumped in a box in the parking lot, which he busted out of and was sitting at the front door of the shelter. He is the same size as your Simba, maybe even bigger. When they post his picture on their website, I will let you know.
