Had an email on Mon. from a woman who saw Evie's adoption flier in a local restaurant. She's looking for a buddy for her young neutered male. We decided Evie probably wouldn't be a good match (the needing to be an only kitty thing), so I referred her to the rescue, she filled out an application and is meeting the adoption coordinator tonight. She's looking for an adult female who gets along well with another cats, and has her eye on Addie, a beautiful short-haired gray sweetie who's been at the rescue for a while. Hoping Addie or some lucky kitty gets a home.

Praying it works out for Addie and the lady who's looking for a new kitty.

Well, according to the rescue's FB page, Claudia, a beautiful tuxedo, was adopted last night to a home with no other cats, so it wasn't the adopter I posted about. Claudia's approximately 5 years - great to see an adult cat get a home! Also, a black female kitten was adopted yesterday, so good news all around!

Could be the adopter didn't fall in love with any of the kitties at the rescue or is adopting, but hasn't taken the cat home yet. Stay tuned....

Ok, heard from the director of the rescue that the adopter in question is interested in several of the female cats at the rescue, but might still want to meet Evie. Apparently, she loves little tabby girls. That's Evie.
So, waiting to see if she calls. Of course, she's welcome to meet Evie and I certainly don't want to discourage her from adopting my sweet little foster, but the rescue really strives to make good matches between people/cats. So, we don't want Evie going to home where neither she, the adopter or the resident cat won't be happy.

With proper introductions, a lot of patience and each cat having his/her own space, Evie would likely do ok in a multi-cat situation, but most adopters aren't going to be willing to put that much work into it. We'll see what happens.
