Ever since I got Thomas and Walter, and now Sebastian, they have been obsessed with drinking out of the faucet. Their foster mom has no idea where they learned it, she said they all came to her knowing how to do it and in turn taught the rest of her cats to do it. LOL I've been having to turn the faucet on for them about 50 times a day, and it was getting old.

I found a small original Drinkwell Fountain on Craigslist last night and DH picked it up for me today. It was a bit dirty so I cleaned it, the whole while the boys watched me on the counter, inspecting everything I did. We started it up on the counter first just to make sure it works, and Walter immediately came over and started drinking from it!! I was so happy! We got it all set up on the floor and within a minute all three boys had taken a drink from it! Yay! I was afraid they would be scared of it or refuse to use it. I was playing around with the control lever, and Walter saw me do it and he reached in with his paw and tried to do what I did. Aww!

Nora is never one that is good with change. When we put it on the floor, she immediately got this look of concern/disgust on her face. She waited until the boys lost their train of thought and went off to do other things (we just happened to put brand new tissue paper on the floor for them to play with lol) and then she went over on her own to inspect the new "contraption". She sniffed...walked around it...then she went to nose the stream of water and she was splashed. OMG, you'd think she was shocked! lol She jerked back, then she started batting at it. haha! I shouldn't, but it was REALLY funny! hahaha

I put her regular bowl back down, in case she really didn't like the new "contraption".
Just a few minutes ago she went over to inspect the "contraption" again, and she sniffed it, and tried to drink form it...then went over to her "old trusty" bowl and got a drink from that. Poor thing just is not good with change. I'm surprised she took to the boys as quick as she did...I think she was just so desperate for company/playmates. Maybe she'll come around in time and like the new bowl.

W/ the best cats
You tell the story so well
None of my crew is into drinking faucet water so I am always amazed when I hear of other cats doing it. My cats will certainly react the same way your Nora did. It's funny and cute.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Awww poor Nora, her world is turned upside down but in a good way.

I have faucet kitties too. Im still working on getting a fountain but right now being winter the taps are on all night and Bacon loves it shes my biggest faucet kitty. Hercules has this thing where he pulls the water bowls towards him and when it starts sloshing around he will drink out of it. Currently we have water bowls in the kitchen, 2 in the living room, one in the bathroom, and 2 in the cat room. All have to cleaned and rinsed out atleast 3 times a day.

you did tell the story so well. this is a weird thing to say but I usually don't like reading stories about things that peoples cats do
but that was great!

Awww, poor Nora! She's just a creature of habit. A girly-cat after my own heart.

Callie used to LOVE drinking from the fountain, but Hannah has never shown ANY interest in it whatsoever! Now I'm thinking of dragging it back out for the Tumble-dude to see if he'd like it. He's always interested in running water, but I've never seen him drink from the tap or anything like that.
