Why hello there, I'm called Simba Yim. I am 18 months old. I was adopted on January 8th, 2011 by the Yims.
I love to cuddle with my humans for naps and play ferociously with my mouse on a string. But my favorite past time, as well as my guilty pleasure, is watching the fish in the tanks and scaring them through the glass!

You can find more pictures of Simba Yim at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/2023871...7625746006809/
I'm constantly updating because he is so photogenic!

Simba Yim, I can certainly see why you have the paparazzi following you. You're absolutely adorable. And, it looks like you have a terrific personality to boot! But, you already knew that, huh?!

Simba is a really adorable kitty. I don't know why some people (not people here, but out in the real world) think that tabby cats are boring and all the same. There is so much personality oozing through Simba's photos that it's impossible to see him as just another kitty. He's such a handsome boy. But, and don't tell Simba this, I don't think he's too scary looking -- even to the fish behind the glass. He's much too sweet to be frightening.

I think my (almost) 18 month old kitty, Finnegan, would love to hang out with Simba Yim. I can only imagine the mischief they'd get into. Great pics for a great kitty! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Alison Joy for your lovely comments.

Simba is quite the character. He converted my parents from adamant dog-lovers to Simba-lovers (they are still prejudiced towards what they think most cats are like and they think he is an exception...)
I could go on and on about every little detail that makes me so happy to have adopted him... \t

but I'll spare you the time! I think you understand from having cats of your own.

Maybe they consider tabbies as "boring" because of their commonly found color palettes and coat patterns? That's my guess. And looks certainly do not dictate the personality of anyone so that is just plain silly, like you said!

It seems to me that non-pet owners are more easily dazzled by fancy breeding, new characteristics, and anything they can put a monetary value to (i.e.: consumers buying brand names for being brand names, not because of the quality or function or superior design.)

Good pet-owners know that each individual animal is equally deserving of love, whether they are mutts or purebred.

But by no means does this define me as "anti-pedigree."

I love both the consistent characteristics of purebred animals, as well as the seemingly unpredictable combination of mixed breeds and mutts!

Hahaha Simba can be pretty devious!
He knows how to "turn on the cute face" when he gets scolded. Luckily, our fish are all alive and have adapted to his antics. Anytime they see him, they swim to the opposite side of the tank because they know he's going to thump the glass with his paws. The worst is when he jumps and then slowly slides off the glass... I can only imagine the fishes' reactions on the other side.

I haven't seen Simba play with another cat yet but I'm definitely planning to try and take him on play dates once the weather gets warm.
More photo opportunities!

I'm going to check out pictures of your Finnegan now!

Thank you! It's hard to take pictures of him when he's active so I think I will have to start taking videos too.

I'm glad you think so! I'm definitely biased but I'd like to think he is unanimously adorable.

I took a video of him kneading a blanket and then falling asleep.

The next time I video him I won't be doing it with the webcam!
