Guess What....job follow-up

Thread Starter
I'm going to work tomorrow!!!!!! My doctor faxed the proper documentation to my boss this morning. He explained that my absences WERE reasonable and justified. SOOO, my boss called me and offered his apologies for treating my pain so lightly. I didn't accept or refuse his apology--I just said I'd see him in the morning.
I'm not going to dwell on this or hold a grudge, but the respect I had for my boss is totally gone. Thanks to all for your vibes
One of my co-worker/friend called me up and listened to me rant and just said I should take the "high road" and be "understanding" of his ignorance. WHY? Why are we (animal lovers) always expected to be the bigger person when someone disregards us like this? Ok I'm going to exhale and let all this resentment go...

It's good to hear you got an apology!

Glad you got a well deserved apology

I'm so glad that you got this sorted Cheryl, some people are far too ignorant for their own good.xx

Aww, that's great to hear that your doctor's note finally got to your boss. Yes, it sucks, but it's best to just let it go. I think if it were me, and if my boss brought it up when I got to work tomorrow, I'd just say "I don't want to talk about it anymore. It's done, it's past, I'm moving on." Moving on from the incident I mean, not your grief. Sheesh, sorry you had to go through all this, but at least it's sorted now.

Well, my instinct was to put a " " and be happy about the apology - and I AM glad (because for all I knew, you decided to get the vet to send something over and this thread was saying he called to fire you!) - but I'm just so sorry he put himself in a position where he needed to apologize. But it is happy you got it sorted out and he did apologize.

Well I'm glad it was worked out, but I agree hun, and understand completely why you're upset. Why excuse ignorance?!?

Just putting it behind you is probably for the best. That doesn't excuse it and it doesn't mean he won't be "earning" his respect back. Maybe hearing it from a doctor will help him realize he was wrong. But just go in and do your best like you always have...that'll show him how valuable you REALLY are and just prove how stupid that was!!

Hi !!! !! You are an amazing person. Good for you taking the high road. Maybe your boss learned something in all of this and can take a lesson in compassion and empathy from you.

Hang in there, things can only go up from here, and there are great things ahead of you, I am sure. You deserve it

I'm glad it all worked out for you.

A lot of people are like that - just don't feel the connection with animals - don't feel they are that important - don't relate to the feelings of those that do. That's why I like it here.

Wow, that is good news. Maybe he will learn a tiny bit of compassion from this.

You deserve all good things, Cheryl.

God bless.

Great news!

I am so glad that your job is not in jeopardy.

I have heard of people calling off work due to a sports team loss. You lost so much more and I am glad he now realizes that.

I would accept his apology then move on with work.

That's great that your doctor gave you the note you needed.
