Hello.

I'm Bethany and I'm a proud kitty Momma of 3 cats...

Gizmo (who I made a post about in the health section already) who is a "mommas boy" and very attached to me (and I to him). He loves to be brushed and cause trouble with the other cats (in a fun way). When I'm in the garden...he likes to sit and watch me work heh.
I got him from someone on a local forum who was given to him by some deaf woman on the street. She couldn't keep him and put a pic up of him and well...he was just a little 2 month old ball of fluff and here he is..8 yrs later

I am unsure of his breed but I have always thought he was a Maine coon.

This is Drew. She is one smart cookie. She knows how to open doors (stands on the doorknob or pulls!) play fetch and tries to bring us "ahem" gifts (mice etc) inside the house to show just how good of a hunter she is. She loves to cuddle and climb onto mags when you are trying to read them. She was a kitten from another cat we used to have but has since passed. I had to keep atleast one form that litter and something about her jsut stood her
She brings us alot of joy (as the others do).

(in the middle of cleaning lol)

And last but not least...Wicked. He is a lonerbut he loves to cuddle sometimes and loves to sit/sleep on my hip when I am laying down on my side. He prefers to be outside as he likes to do what he wants WHEN he wants heh. He was abandoned by his mother (my In-laws cat) at a few weeks old and we handfed and took him in. No way were we gonna let this lovely ball of fluff die on our watch...he is 9 yrs old and one tuff boy!
He is a Norwegian Forest cat mostly.

So those are my kitties and a little info about each one. It's taken me a few days to post here since i have been so stressed with Gizmo's health but since he is doing a bit better..I have more time

Welcome to you and your adorable babies Bethany!
I had a kitty growing up named Wicked who was my BABY. He actually looked a lot like your Wicked except mine was grey and white.

Hiya
and thanks for the welcome.

Kailie...heh and did he live up to his name like mine does? Everytime I have get an animal I try to give a name that fits them. Wicked was a little little fighter yet devilish so I thought that name was fitting. Gizmo was named after the Gremlins Gizmo because the first time I saw him..that's who he reminded me of and Drew well...I was watching a movie with Drew Barrymore at the time and she kept lookin at the TV when Drew spoke so she is named after her

Nanner...Haha you might think twice about doing that..you'll be pickin cat fur off your face for an hour (I never learn
) but they are lovely so I can see how you would want to do that.
Oh yes..Gizmo lovesssssssss to pose. I love when I'm lucky enough to capture him in mid yawn

(like that hehe). People say he looks so evil in that pic (maybe I should put a pic outside the house...BEWARE OF CAT!

Drew was a little pissy that I seemed to disturb her in mid clean but I can never have too many pics of my kitties...they bring such happiness to my life

Bethany,

I'm so glad that things are looking up for Gizmo and that you are feeling relaxed enough to venture to give us an official introduction! Your other two are precious, too!

Hello and thanks (again) for the warm welcome everyone.

And it's nice to read how much you guys like/love my "kids"

Aprilyim...thanks. He gets better each day!

Captiva...yes he is feeling better it seems. He was even playing a bit yesterday! He goes to the vet tomorrow and we will find out about the liver biopsy and he will have another ultrasound. He is such a brave cat and I have to add..he takes his meds like a champ..it's quick and painless (for the both of us hehe).

Have a nice day and again thanks for the warm welcome and don't worry if I need any help..I will message one of you

Ok you asked for it

A pic of Gizmo from last yr...but I love it. He loves laying on my clothes AND as you can see..the laundry basket

Drew took some tips from Gizmo..here she is posing for me
It's not easy getting her in a good photo..she always moves heh but that day she was a good girl
She looks lovely.

And another of Gizmo...he hates going for his summer haircut but he seems to enjoy it after a few days (when he gets his "pride" back) and he can actually clean his himself without hairballs etc
Most people think he looks so cute but he looks cute with or without

We go to the Vet tomorrow so I will let you guys know what happened.

^_^ Hahaha! I did ask for it~
Simba only sits in the laundry baskets if he's trying to get higher up to look at the fish tanks.

Drew IS posing for you!

You're right. Gizmo looks cute - with hair or without. I think it is quite funny when cats are embarrassed about their appearance! My friend's cat had to be shaved and was so ashamed until it started to grow back a little and then when it fully grew back she was strutting around like a diva.

Xocats...hehe he sure doesn't feel fierce when he comes home with it but I think in the end he is glad when he can clean all of his bits without getting a mouthful of fur
Thanks for the fingers crossed too.

Aprilym...You sure did. Ohh sneaky Simba..has a nice ring to it

Yes, Drew has her photo moments heh.
Hehe as I always say..Cats are people too so like us..they worry how they look too but we will never hear them say " Does my fur make my butt look big" ?

As far as Gizmo's health...it's a miracle!!! Vet says his liver tests came back negative for bacteria and the ultrasound showed his gallblader etc are back to normal. With his tests being so bad last week..they gave him a 50/50 percent chance of pulling thru....they can't explain what made him so ill. The only thing I am a bit worried about is he is not drinking water or atleast..not when I am awake. I have put some water into his Perscription A D wetfood to get a bit more liquid into him when he eats but hopefully he will start drinking on his own again...before he got ill he used to love to try to drink out of my water glass.

He has to finish up his antibioctics though (he has 3 days left) to be on the safe side and continue with the special food and hopefully he will be back to his playfull, handsome self soon!

Husband is on his way home with him and I can't wait to give him a cuddle!

All this stress from Gizmo late...nowI can finally relax. I had minor surgery that I am trying to recover from but my 1st priority was Gizmo's health.

A BIG THANKS to everyone for the well wishes and the finger crossing etc. Seems it worked and HOPEFULLY I won't lose my baby (or my other 2 beauties) anytime soon!

Hehehe sneaky Simba :p I like it!
Hahaha "does my fur make my butt look big?"

Bethany you should take care of yourself too!
Gizmo is very, very important but if you're not feeling well and you're stressed it's not going to help him at all.

On the other hand, I'm so happy that his tests revealed better results!!!

Good boy! He knows he needs to get better for you soon!

As for the water issue here are some suggestions I read online besides adding water to the wet food which you are already doing:

1 - Try putting more than one water bowl out for him (low ones, high ones, big ones, small ones, different materials... making sure they are washed daily and filled with fresh water [as you probably already do
])

2 - Try a fountain bowl? Or a slowly running faucet? Many cats seem to prefer running water over still water.

3 - Try putting a little "flavor" in the water like the gravy from the food, or water from a water-packed tuna can, or maybe just a few drops of milk if Gizmo likes milk?

4 - Try putting ice cubes in the bowl? See if he licks them?

Get better soon Bethany and Gizmo!
