Ok we managed to get the betta pictures I found onto my computer, so I will post them now. We're still working on the pictures of
Lynxx
. They'll be posted soon

Ok I've posted pictures before, but that was awhile ago. Let's see if I still remember how to do it. Hopefully these work

Ok this first betta was named Clyde. He was 1 of the bettas that lived the longest.

This is Casper another 1 of my past bettas.

This is another 1 of my bettas. It's been so long, I don't really remember what I named him. And no he didn't become a fishstick or a bettastick,
he was only on the stove, so I could take the picture, and the burner was off.

This purpley fellow was another betta I owned at 1 time, but don't really remember what I named him.

This green and red fellow was another betta I owned at 1 time, but don't really remember what I named him.

Casper and his brother

Casper and his 2 brothers

I remembered taking these pictures, but had no memory of what happened to them. I'm glad I found them! Maybe when the 2 kittens are older I'll get bettas again. Hope you guys like the pictures

Cute!! We had some before, our fish tanks had separate compartments for our betas, and for the baby fish whenever we got them... Betas are beautiful, but I feel bad for their solitary lives...

I always admire how pretty they are, but when we decided to get fish, it was because we wanted another form of entertainment for the kitties, so we went for active over beauty.

I could never understand how these beautiful bettas live such a solitary life and are such fighters??!! Makes me feel bad for them but I see many people who have them put their bowls side by side
Your bettas were pretty. My cats would never allow me to have them, they would go in fishing

No male betta has to live a solitary life, as long as you put a mirror next to their tank

How did you get your cats not to attack the fish? We kept the bettas hidden from
Lynxx
. Until a mouse go on our counter and lead him right to their tanks. Then we had to constantly tell him to get down. Try to hide them with paper towels blocking his view.

My grandparents cat did go fishing in their tank, she fell in once. She also sat on top of the tank, let her tail dangle down, and 1 fish did bite

Thanks
I used to have all different colors. The 1 color I always tried to get was an all black 1. Some people online told me that black was very rare. I think they were right, I haven't seen 1 in any pet store yet. If I did, I'd buy him, and have to find a way to protect him from the kittens.

You've never had a betta? You've got to get 1 there beautiful fish. Their even more beautiful if you put a mirror next to their tank, or if you put 2 betta tanks next to each other. Their neck will puff up, and their fins flare out. They are very beautiful angry creatures
Only the males have the huge fins.

Bettas can be kept in a community tank, neither of my boys killed the other fish (at different times not both boys together) I also kept females its best to keep them in even numbers or they will pick one and kill off

I've never had a female betta before so I don't know much about them. I've seen the male bettas in tanks with other species of fish before. I tried it once with a snail once. I added a snail to Clyde's tank. Clyde just constantly attacked him. Luckily he had a shell or Clyde would have killed him.

I love your blue one and the purple one is stunning!! I've had several Betta, but my fave was a bright red one, Rojo. He had such personality. Bella loved watching him and he would come right up to the glass and stare at her! She never tried to harm him. He had a terrible habit of trying to jump out of his bowl so I kept a screen over the top of it. I was really attached to him.

I had a female (red) and a male (blue) and they had babies. I walked through the door and saw the process as it was happening. The male wrapped himself over the female in an upsidedown U shape. Then she floated like she was dead- but that's only how it looks. A stream of white eggs came out of her and he moved them with his mouth into a baby nest of vegetation. Then when she was back to normal I separated them. She was not happy when I first put them together. She was terrified - always dashing away from him. I guess she knew what he wanted.

I never had a betta try to jump out of the tank. I did have 1 that would jump out of the net, when I was cleaning their tanks. I had to have help when I cleaned his tank, even with help he still managed to jump to his death. He was the only 1 out of all my fish, all the years of having fish, to do that.

I would never put another fish or creature in the same tank as a betta. Not after seeing how Clyde kept attacking my snail.
