We have two persians that are a year and a half old. One is a short hair, one a long. The long-haired's fur became matted, so we took him to the groomer to be shaved. We brought him home yesterday, and the short hair was totally freaked out, sneaking around behind him to get a sniff, hissing and swiping at him. This morning, same thing. Is he ever going to get used to him again? Is it the smell from the shampoo, or does he truly not recognize him?

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

I've heard of this kind of thing a lot here, especially after one cat has been to the vet. I think people suggest putting a drop of vanilla extract (the real thing) on both cats' chins and the base of their tails. Then they smell the same and the problem stops.
However, I think the problem usually goes away in a day or two anyway. At least it has when it has happened at my house.
