Last night I was worried SICK! He still wouldn't eat when we tried last night, and for the life of him he didn't want to swallow his appetite stimulant pill.
That was a fight. You could tell he was having trouble moving around, stumbling...
So when he wouldn't eat again last night, I mixed the wet food from the vet in with some "Whiska's Cat Milk" and syringe fed him. I didn't give him a lot, but enough to get something into his stomach and give him some nourishment.

After I syringe fed him, he got into the litter box. He peed just fine, but then he pooped... It was basically pure blood.

This morning I came down worried about what I would find. He's still very lethargic, but moving around better. I shook the treat can and tried to give him treats. He ran right over, but wouldn't eat any. After breakfast we're going to give him his pills and see if we can get him to eat some wet food. If not I'll syringe feed him again. His ears are not warm today though, so it looks like he is past the fever. I can't help but have the feeling though that we're dealing with something much worse than a simple virus.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this! I know it's so upsetting to see them sick and find it so hard to get food and medicine into them.

Although I know this has probably entered your mind, I'd recommend calling the vet right away and telling them about the blood. Maybe he needs something stronger than the antibiotic.

Lots of for Osiris. Poor guy!

I did hun...
He said just to keep doing what we're doing and if he's no better by tomorrow to bring him back in.

He still won't eat, so was syringe fed again this morning. He did take both pills like a trooper though. After the feeding he just laid there and was letting out these pathetic, sad little meows.

Oh my goodness, why does this always seem to go through weekends.

I hope you are wrong about something more serious.

Sending best thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry to read he's not much improved this morning. That's very disconcerting! I know you've called the vet, but if you have an ER vet nearby, I'd be calling them and/or taking him in.

Oh poor kitty and poor family. I hope he's feeling a little better by now, and that you've been able to talk to the vet. I was thinking - and I hope someone with more experience comes along - have you tried plain chicken or lamb baby food? No onions or garlic? Or, I read that folks trapping ferals have great luck with Kentucky Fried Chicken, skin removed, as a no fail lure to the appetite.

I feel for you - when my girl was on antibiotics, she had no appetite and it worried me no end.

Oh the poor guy! Hopefully, this is the darkest part before the dawn, and he'll be much better tomorrow. That his fever is down is a very good sign.

Lots of to you and him.

Oh, dear. My heart goes out to you.
It's good that he's getting his pills. They've got to start helping soon, I'm thinking. Sending more vibes for Ossie.

He just licked up a little bit of wet food on his own!! He's had no interest in the wet food from the vet or a few other options I tried, but I found a Whiska's pouch of turkey & gravy and he lapped up some gravy! It wasn't much, but it was something, and it's progress that has given me the first glimmer of hope since he got sick! I don't want to get my hopes up TOO much, but I'm not ready to give up on my boy yet. He's a fighter.

Hiding from my SS!
So glad he ate something! I agree to try some chicken or turkey baby food with no additives, my boys think that stuff is crack! Please keep us posted on how he is.

Years ago, to get one of my sick cats to eat, I heated a mixture of water and cat food and fed it to him on a spoon. The soupy consistency made it easier to eat, kept him hydrated and the warmth enhanced the smell and taste. I had to go through many cans of food before hitting on the right one, which, if I remember correctly, was a fish flavor.

Sounds like you're headed in the right direction! Sending continued vibes to Ossie!!!!!

When Belle was off her food, she had absolutely no interest in anything that even remotely smelled like cat food. Including babyfood.

This first thing I was able to get her to eat was chunked white chicken breast from a can (not the cheap "flaked chicken", but this is really just chunks of chicken breast...it has lots of "yummy juice" in it). I blended it up so it was in small flakes, mixed in with the juice....but not pureed, as she wouldn't touch it then.

I know you're getting lots of food suggestions, but just wanted to share what worked for me.

I hope Osiris tasting a little bit of gravy is a small step toward him feeling better and eating again.

More coming his way.

I got my hopes up last night for nothing.
He still won't eat anything I'm offering, no interest at all. I'm trying all your suggestions too (which I SO appreciate) but he has no interest. The vet opens in an hour, and we'll be heading in.
