Vibes for Ossie PLEASE! Off to the vet.

We'll be leaving in about an hour to take Osiris to the vet. I noticed yesterday that he was vomiting and there wasn't much in it. Then last night, I noticed he also has extreme diarrhea. This morning he is very lethargic and won't eat, not even treats. This is NOT like my Ossie. He LOVES treats. I made the call to the vet and luckily they were able to squeeze us in. I am so incredibly worried guys. Please send those vibes.

Well, he's a sick little guy. He has a fever of 104.2. The vet said he wasn't obstucted or anything, but obviously has some kind of infection. He gave him 1) An antibiotic injection. 2) Sub fluids 3) Antibiotic pills to start tomorrow. 4) Appitite stimulant pills and 5) Medi-cal recovery wet food to try. Now it's a waiting game to see if this helps. We have no idea what could be causing this, and all of the other kitties are fine. My poor little man... Now I have to get some food into him, because the vet warned that if he doesn't eat he may end up with fatty liver syndrome. Keep those vibes coming guys!

Thanks guys. He's doing some shivering/shaking, which I am assuming is due to the fever. He's very slow moving, and really just wants to rest. He's had his first appetite stimulant pill, but has no interest in food at all, including the wet food from the vet. Ossie always inhales wet food. The vet did warn that he might not eat until he gets a couple of those pills into his system, so I'm keeping a close eye on him, letting him rest and we'll try again later.

My heart is breaking guys... I hate seeing ANY of my babies sick, and I just wish I could take the suffering away from him. Dana thinks I'm over reacting, and that he'll be fine in no time, but I can't help but to worry.

Oh..... Of course you're worried! Sending more vibes for Ossie that everything works and he starts eating and starts getting better.

It's horrible when our babies are sick. They can't tell us where it hurts. So glad you got him to the vet right away....you're a good meowmy.

Poor Ossie!! I sure hope he feels better SOON! He may not be interested in food if he got sub-qs. Try warming his food up and also try baby food. Hannah likes turkey & gravy baby food when she's sick.

He is in my prayers. And so are you!

Sorry I'm so late in sending my healing vibes...I've been at the hospital all day with my mother. that your little man gets his appetite back soon and also that he just plain old feels better soon!

I'd be very worried and upset, too.

Last night I was worried SICK! He still wouldn't eat when we tried last night, and for the life of him he didn't want to swallow his appetite stimulant pill. That was a fight. You could tell he was having trouble moving around, stumbling... So when he wouldn't eat again last night, I mixed the wet food from the vet in with some "Whiska's Cat Milk" and syringe fed him. I didn't give him a lot, but enough to get something into his stomach and give him some nourishment.

After I syringe fed him, he got into the litter box. He peed just fine, but then he pooped... It was basically pure blood.

This morning I came down worried about what I would find. He's still very lethargic, but moving around better. I shook the treat can and tried to give him treats. He ran right over, but wouldn't eat any. After breakfast we're going to give him his pills and see if we can get him to eat some wet food. If not I'll syringe feed him again. His ears are not warm today though, so it looks like he is past the fever. I can't help but have the feeling though that we're dealing with something much worse than a simple virus.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this! I know it's so upsetting to see them sick and find it so hard to get food and medicine into them.

Although I know this has probably entered your mind, I'd recommend calling the vet right away and telling them about the blood. Maybe he needs something stronger than the antibiotic.

Lots of for Osiris. Poor guy!

I did hun... He said just to keep doing what we're doing and if he's no better by tomorrow to bring him back in.

He still won't eat, so was syringe fed again this morning. He did take both pills like a trooper though. After the feeding he just laid there and was letting out these pathetic, sad little meows.

More for him

Oh my goodness, why does this always seem to go through weekends.

I hope you are wrong about something more serious.

Sending best thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry he's not better today. Vibes and prayers are coming his (and your) way.

I'm so sorry to read he's not much improved this morning. That's very disconcerting! I know you've called the vet, but if you have an ER vet nearby, I'd be calling them and/or taking him in.
Oh poor kitty and poor family. I hope he's feeling a little better by now, and that you've been able to talk to the vet. I was thinking - and I hope someone with more experience comes along - have you tried plain chicken or lamb baby food? No onions or garlic? Or, I read that folks trapping ferals have great luck with Kentucky Fried Chicken, skin removed, as a no fail lure to the appetite.

I feel for you - when my girl was on antibiotics, she had no appetite and it worried me no end.

Oh the poor guy! Hopefully, this is the darkest part before the dawn, and he'll be much better tomorrow. That his fever is down is a very good sign.

Lots of to you and him.
