Some of y'all may remember my original cat shelf system that I put up in the great room to look over the backyard and farms beyond the fenceline:

Well, today I just finished a shelf system so kitties can look out the front of the house too, since I know thats like their cat version of a television, heh!

So far they seem to love it! Just going to add a small reinforcement to the center top shelf, and we're good to go!

Thanks!!!

The small shelves come in two packs, and are the "invisible" type where the hanger is hidden. I found they needed extra support though, and so added one bracket underneath.

So that its not too slippery, I just bought adhesive cork kitchen cabinet liner. Very easy to cut to shape and apply, and very grippy with kitty claws.

Just need a trip to lowes, a stud finder, and an electric drill w/ a small bit to predrill the holes and then screw in the screws.

Very nice! I need to show my BF pics of this and Carolina's shelves too, and see if he can do something like that for the catS. (Yep, I can say catS now!!

That is awesome!! My 2 would love that! But we don't have any windows like that for them to sit in anyway. I do have their cat tree in front of a big window though. And I have a bench in front of another.

They'll probably be spending half the day up there! It really looks great, and the cork is a brilliant idea.

Thanks for all the props! Yup, they definitely loving hanging out up there.

My advice though is to consider your kitties agility... I noticed that the kitties only need two of those shelves, as they can jump like CRAZY!

Oh well, the other steps will be useful when they are older I suppose.

Those look great!! I bet my cats would love them! We're going to have to do something like that when we move into the new house b/c there won't be a second floor for them to run up to and look down from. We're going to have to add "height" somehow. That's a good idea!
