Gravy lickers

Thread Starter
Both of my girls (ages 2 and 1) are canned food gravy lickers. No matter what food I've tried (dozens, I'm sure), they simply suck the moisture out of the food and leave the meat.

Does it matter if the gravy comes from a premium food or not? VeRUS and Merrick are their favorites, but they lick Fancy Feast with gusto as well. It's more frustrating to dump the more expensive foods down the drain but I don't mind quite as much with the .47 Fancy Feast.

They currently eat a mixture of Kirklands and Evo Herring and Salmon as their dry. I'm planning to reduce the Evo and introduce Orijen to see how they do.

I feed Wellness Core and mix in the Core canned, and EVO grain free canned food. If you mix it all together with the dry for your kitties then they can't just suck up the gravy and leave the rest. And the gravy will mix with the dry and make it even more tasty

Oh my goodness JenWales - I am laughing here because I could have written this post word for word!

I finally gave up with my baby and "feed" her (actually, "hydrate" her) with the Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers (they are new, have you seen them?). She pretty much will lap up all FF as long as it is sliced or grilled. Other food, unknown at this point. After wasting tons of moola for the fussy princess I gave up - unless I get free samples.

You would think I would give up the can entirely; however, I do know cats are notoriously under-drinking in the water department so in order for her to get moisure I will continue this futile practice.

I jumped for joy when Gravy Lovers came out. I couldnt believe there was a real market for it LOL.

You explained this so well I see a pile of dry square of meat when she is done.
