WE have a Calico kitten who will be 5 months old Feb. 1st, WE noticed the other day that it seems every nipple has like a growth under the skin.

They do not cause her any pain or discomfort when touched, I seem able to actually 'grab' around them as well.

We had thought she may have gotten pregnant when one of our Males came home last week, but she has not been in heat at all, and it would be too soon anyway for any signs to show if that was the case...

Anyone have any ideas? I have never had a female,. so do not know if this is something that can happen... or if it may be a symptom...

She is completely normal, very affectionate, eats and drinks well, stool is normal as well... nothing in behaviour or stool/urination to say anything may be wrong...

I am really hoping someone may have an idea on this...
I really can't understand a kitten having cysts on EVERY nipple...

I am worried about cancer or maybe something else... I am going to have the hubby call the vet tomorrow and see what they say,,, but spending hours waiting to get seen is less than pleasant with a 3 yr old :/

Sorry to tell you this, but it sounds to me your little girl might be pregnant... I do not think she would have cysts in every nipple. Cats can get their first heat as early as 4 months, so it is very possible she was in heat already and was in fact impregnated by your male cat.
Have you considered neutering and spaying your cats? I sure hope you do...

I can't help much but my old rescue torti, Kasey, had one cyst like that.

She is 10 or so years old and was spayed when she was young.

It developed in the space of a month. It was about this size of half a pea and looked like a blister. It did not bother her, either.

The vet lanced it with a hypo and drained it. I came back in 3 days, it was lanced again and this time the fluid was checked at the lab. It was not cancerous. I did as the vet "what would you do if it was your cat" and they indicated they would remove it.

She had had her surgery on Dec. 28, 2010 and is doing quite well, since it was one cyst, she was in and out in a day

Well if she IS pregnant... im baffled..
1 - I have had her since she was 6 weeks old... she has definatley NOT been in heat even once since ive had her..
2- If she is pregnant than she is only no more than 4 days pregnant... surely WAY too soon to have swollen nipples?
3- the nipples themselves are normal, right size not swollen or discolored.. it is just under the skin...

We are going to call the vet tomorrow and ask them as well... I honeslty don't think she is pregnant... and again if she is it is MUCH too soon for her to be displaying any symptoms. BF is home all day and only 1 time saw Booboo on her holding her by the neck.. however it was more a STAY STILL pose because she was harrassing him... he wasnt even trying to 'mount' her...

Anyway will check with vet.. if no one has any other ideas... and update with news.

Clay.. there is nothing visible when you look at her belly... they are just like mounds under the skin that seem to be concentrated in the nipple area...

Is she in an environment with an unneutered male? If so, she's old enough to get pregnant.

Not all heats are obvious.

It could be that she is going into a heat? If the male is around her and she is close to a heat, he can "help her along" so to speak. You may want to get her in pronto to get her fixed, better to do it before rather than wait. I assume your male isn't fixed either? A dangerous mix, especially if your boy is around a unfixed female, not only babies, but he will spray up a storm everywhere!
On a different take on it, one of our fixed females had a lump in one breast. We had it remove, but it was cancerous. She is fine, it hadn't spread yet, but if you wait too long will spread into her chest wall, and then it's too late.
Keep us posted, I'm curious to know what's happening.
Not to sound like a broken record, but you really should consider getting everyone spayed or neutered. So much better for them, especially health wise.
