My 9 year old cat, Jade, was diagnosed with a heart murmur today. The vet called it a 3 out of 5. He placed her on enalapril, gave her a b12 shot, and placed her on prescription diet.
SHe has been lethargic, and not eating/drinking as much as normal since yesterday, and still isn't.
I am wondering how long it normally takes for enalapril to start to work. The vet said that it would correct her heart murmur before it did any damage to her kidneys or liver. I am just worried that it is too late, and damage has already been done.
Does anyone have any first hand experience with symptoms like these, or the drug enalpril?
