Since today is an exciting day...in a lame way... But after a year and a halfish we are getting real tv...with commercials and all.

In the time we have had without tv its been watching DVDs literally Ive seen seasons 1-5 of House and Supernatural about a million times. Ive seen all the season of True Blood and I dont even like that show. It has been a lame boring commercialless blahness when it came to watching tv.

Well the tv person is here and starting to install my lovely commercial filled sattelite. Im so excited. LOL

So what are your favorite shows to watch. Im talking about the ones where you will plan your day around that show so you dont miss it, or the show that caused you to get DVR so you never missed that show ever ever ever.

Ive got a few....I would flip if I couldnt find a streaming link for them online.

Real Housewives....of anything...lol Jersey is my FAVORITE though.
Teen Mom and Teen Mom2
Supernatural (I wont catch up with this though because we will buy it on DVD)
House (same as Supernatural)
Bad Girls Club

**Can you tell I have a love for cheesey drama filled reality tv lol**

Celebrity Rehab
Keeping up with the Kardashians
NCIS
Bones
Law and Order SVU

I honestly couldnt tell you about anything new though because I dont know whats on...Heck I dont even know about movies that have been released unless Ive heard about them on the radio or happened to see it at Bfs brothers house. Its very very lame and pathetic but hey....no more dark ages for me!! Im getting tv and Im so excited Im literally doing a happy dance. LOL!!!!

Share your favorite shows with me!! Any new ones I should check out??

Congratulations on the TV!

Hawaii 5-0 (I would watch Alex O'Laughlin in anything)
Castle (on at the same time as Hawaii 5-0 here, so I check that out On Demand sometimes)
Vampire Diaries
(very lame with a lot of teenage angst)
Supernatural
Big Bang Theory *knock, knock, knock* "Penny", *knock, knock, knock* "Penny", *knock, knock, knock* "Penny". "Bazinga". It's hysterical. And on at the same time as Vampire Diaries.

I enjoyed the first season of Justified with Timothy Olyphant - he was in Deadwood - (on FX) and I just saw a commercial where the second season begins at the beginning of February.

That's pretty much it. I don't get into reality shows or anything like that.

YES!!! Yes, yes, and yes.

I was watching a very intense movie last night, from Netflix - The Hurt Locker - I was loving it, but I purposely timed it so that I could interrupt it with Hawaii Five-O.....the movie being intense, and all, and I don't have DVR, and I can't miss H5O.

I love the chemistry between Alex O'Laughlin and Scott Caan. The writing is exceptional, and then there's that great opening theme music!
Love it.

I think I'm in love with Alex. Started watching him in Moonlight and even watched Three Rivers....and I didn't even like that all that much.

You're right about the chemistry between Alex O'Laughlin and Scott Caan....I enjoy the constant bickering between the two of them. Good writing and gorgeous scenery, too. I liked the original 5-0 and this series is as good as that one, IMO. And I love the theme music, too. Easily my most favorite show on tv right now....I won't miss 5-0 for anything.

I'm a big Dexter fan, too, but we don't get HBO or Showtime....my co-worker loans us his Dexter DVDs.

Eh- House is ok. When we first got season 1 on DVD I was really into it. The girls have youth symphony practice on Monday nights- and last year it was me driving them 99% of the time, and since that's the night House is on- I never got to see new episodes.

This year we found someone to carpool with. So I watched one of the new episodes. And I kind of regret that I did. The whole "Huddy" thing is just annyoing IMHO. I liked the tension between the 2 of them before they hooked up. And then it looks like he got rid of most of his staff and got new people- and I like the other people. Don't know if I'm going to get any more episodes or not.

At Christmas, I found the 1st season of The Office for $12. Dh kind of likes that show. Well, after watching a couple of episodes I just thought it was SO funny. So we got season 1, and so far it's good. The newer episodes are good as well.

However, the boss- Steve Carrell is leaving in April. I don't know how that's going to affect the dynamics of the show.

Dh likes the show on Monday nights right after House on Fox. I don't remember the name of it at the moment.

I'm gonna have to check out some of the shows you mentioned. H5O being one lol.

I'm not a True Blood fan but I want to know what happens next lol. I started watching Boardwalk Epmire but the dvds that were recorded for like the last 6 episodes had no sound so I'm gonna try and find it on HBO and record it. I've never seen Dexter or know what its about but ill check it out.
I want to see Entourage. That looks like a good show and if it is good ill probably get it on dvd since there are still shows I have to have can't live without on dvd. We will probably get scrubs on dvd too they have good deals on the complete set online sometimes.

They guy is soon done.....I can't wait to watch tv. I gotta catch up on housewives from last week and teen mom 2 is on tonight...I literally and dying with anxiousness to get this up and running.

Bonus though....the installation guy has 4 cats and him and his wife are adopting a 5th. Lol how awesome!! I had the cats in their room with the door shut and asked him if he had a problem with them being let out and he said nope and told me about him and his wifes cats. Lol

Hmmmm....I think I'm going to have to find a way to check out some of those shows.
I know Three Rivers didn't last very long, so probably not on DVD anywhere....but I bet I can find Moonlight.

You can find Moonlight. It only lasted one season, but that was the fault of the CBS execs, not the fans. That cancellation created a huge furor. I will tell you, though, that Moonlight is a vampire show; Alex plays Mick St. John, a vampire. It started on CBS, then Sy-Fy ran the reruns for a summer. Last summer, the CW ran it after The Vampire Diaries for awhile, too. I liked it and bought the DVDs.

I wasn't impressed with Three Rivers. I don't get into medical dramas to begin with and this just didn't do well. It was pretty eh overall.

5-0, OTOH? I like!

The only thing on TV that I plan around is sports: Miami Dolphins football is as close to a religion as I get, & Miami Heat basketball is right behind it.

Other than that we DVR most TV shows. Some of the shows we like are

Californication
Dexter
Community
30 Rock

My favorite shows are:

Bluebloods starring Tom Sellick (sp)

Hawaii 5-0 (just love Scott Caan and he has stolen the show, even nominated Sunday for a Golden Globe), I just love their bromance

Desperate Housewives

Private Practice

House

Criminal Minds

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I don't watch anything that I plan my day around. None of it is that important to me. However, I do like to watch the Investigative Discovery channel with the unsolved mysteries while I iron.

I don't watch sitcoms.
If you were to look at my DVR right now the shows I recorded on it are all science documentaries with a few sci fi movies. The closest I come to a series is watching Mythbusters from time to time and stuff on ID.

Oh me too! Bonus about the show being set in Hawaii: more opportunities for him to lose his shirt!

It's the only new show that I've gotten into. It's funny and cheesy and boy do they love loading on the shmaltz about kids, but it's still very entertaining.

Losing his shirt! And I think he's only
had his shirt off twice so far ..... once because he was in the water and once when he was in bed. (Not that I've been keeping track or anything.)

My favorite show is NCIS. I mean ultra-super-duper FAVORITE show EVAR. It's really the only one I have to see first-run, planning my day around it, buying all the past seasons on DVD, etc. Anything else I can just DVR and watch later. I also like:
Criminal Minds
House
NCIS Los Angeles
L&O SVU
Mythbusters
Dirty Jobs
The Closer (it's the last season, boo!)
White Collar
Psych
Covert Affairs
Monk (not on anymore, but you can rent the DVDs)
Bones
The Good Guys
Rizzoli and Isles

(I think I like cop/spy shows, LOL)

And I don't normally care for sitcoms, but I do like The Big Bang Theory and The Middle.

Hmmm, looking at that list I discovered that I watch too much TV,
.

Oh, yeah! I got so carried away thinking about Hawaii Five-O and Alex O'L without his shirt that I forgot about other favorite shows!

I also like NCIS - alot. Willowy - last night was so good, wasn't it, with Bob Newhart?

Criminal Minds
Law & Order: SVU
Glee
The Mentalist

Any drama or mystery on PBS - right now I'm hooked on Downton Abbey on Masterpiece Classic on Sunday nights. I also love their imported mysteries from the UK - Inspector Lewis being my absolute fave.
