I'll be taking Dave to the outpatient surgery center soon for his 2nd surgery. I'm a nervous wreck, and he's so calm it's maddening!
Doesn't make it any easier that he fell a couple of weeks ago and bruised his ribs; the dr. will make his final decision this morning as to whether or not the surgery will take place today, or wait until the ribs have healed more. (it still hurts sometimes when Dave takes a deep breath) I'm 99% sure the surgery will happen this morning; all the postive vibes 3 weeks ago worked wonders. I'd really, really appreciate some vibes one more time for my honey.

Sending healing to Dave and hope he can get the surgery over and done with today. Hope his ribs heal completely soon, I know what bruised ribs feel like so broken ones have to be really painful.

Anyway, mega for both of you!!!!!!
Luckily, even tho' his hand was still in the sling after the 1st surgery, he managed to land mostly on his side. Scared the begeebers out of me, tho.

Just got the big guy home---after taking him to a Chinese buffet
. He amazes me sometimes. The surgery went well; now we just have to hope no infection settles in. Got my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the vibes, everyone! Hope they help as much this time as they did before.

Thanks, everyone.
For some reason, there's been more pain this time. I'm keeping him goofy on pain killers, so that helps. The stitches come out this Friday; hopefully, everything will look as good as the first one did. Then we'll wait for the dr. to give his ok for Dave to return to work.
I hope the dr. understands just what DH's job entails; when you hear that someone is a store manager, most people think of the fellow that walks around all day greeting customers and over-seeing the staff. Anyone that has ever shopped at an Aldi store knows better.
Luckily, DH still has 2 weeks of vacation coming before the end of April, so he can work for a few weeks then take a vacation, work a few more weeks and take the other vacation. I'm pretty sure he's going to need them!
Thanks again for all the vibes!

I had both hands done last year and it was the best thing I ever did. Immediately after surgery I could sleep through the night with no pain for the first time in years. Good to your DH! He will be glad to have this surgery over and pain free

The stitches on the 2nd hand came out yesterday; to me, the wound looks "angry", but the dr. was very happy with it. Dave is still using pain killers; for some reason, this hand wasn't as co-operative as the first one. All in all, tho', things have gone very well. He sees the dr. in 2 weeks to determine his "back to work" status.
Thanks for the good , everyone! I do believe they've played a big part in how well things have gone.
