Vibes needed for my mother please

My Mom had to have an emergency appendectomy yesterday, and she is now in the ICU with a breathing tube. I'm hoping they will remove the tube today, but don't know yet. She had been complaining about her stomach hurting since last Monday, but said she didn't feel well enough to take a bath and get presentable enough to go to the doctor . (She's one of those people who won't even go to the grocery store without full makeup on!) Finally my Dad MADE her go, and the doctor sent her to the ER. Apparently her appendix had absessed and her gut is now full of infection! This is not a good situation, especially since she turned 85 this week.

Need some of those famous TCS vibes please.

I'm on my way to the hospital to visit her right now.

I'm so sorry honey. It's definatly a case where pride can get in the way of catching something soon enough. I'm am hoping that she is able to make a full recovery!

All the very best for your mother. MIne is hte same - and she
makes light of her pains and problems as she dosen't want people to fuss over her. I think elderly people often don't feel they deserve the attention. I do hope yours recovers quickly.

Oh sweetie, I am SO sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went through something similar with Gary's mom, who ignored what she thought was a flare-up of colitis, but was a tear in her colon, so of course infection spread....

for your mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update on my mother. They removed the breathing tube yesterday afternoon while I was visiting, then shortly thereafter she kicked my dad and me out and told us not to come back until today! She said she was just so very tired and felt guilty nodding off while we were there. Sounds like she's already on the road to recovery .

I think those famous TCS vibes are working wonders! Thanks everyone
