1. I like your name. How did you get to be named Nadette? Do you like your name? Or, is there something else you'd rather be called?
I came with my name from the shelter. Even though I was pretty young, I really liked the kittens in my foster home, and was very motherly. My skin sister and my Purrpa picked me out as a surprise, so when I came home, they had bought me a pretty heart shaped tag with my name on it, so they decided to keep my name. I guess it's all right, since, "Nadette, Queen of the Universe" is a little long!

2. I read in your profile that you don't like Elsa very much? Why is that? And, since you don't like Elsa, do you have another sibling that you get along with?
I like Smudge the best. Elsa goes outside and she smells funny so I chase her. Smudge lets me groom him and grooms me some, but those boys are too rough! They can play chase by themselves while I recline.

3. Does your meowmy celebrate your birthday or gotcha day? If so, what does she do especially for you on that day? And, if she doesn't, what would you like her to do?
She got me very specially as a surprise birthday present, so we get to celebrate together. See, my Meowmy was sad after Smudge1 died, and her daughter and my Purrpa went to find another white kitty at the shelter. I was the sweetest so they picked me.

Well, of course I do a lot of grooming, but Meowmy keeps picking these things she calls MATS out of my fur. She says I don't do a good enough job. I go outside a little bit, just onto the porch and back yard, but sometimes grasses and stuff get caught in my hair and make it icky. I love being groomed and brushed, but that pulling has got to stop!

5. What is your favorite food? Do you like treats? What's your favorite treat? And, what is your favorite people food (if you've ever had any)?
I am very not-picky. When Meowmy gets out the spoon to show Clyde (he's deaf, so that's how she tells him it's time to eat) I am the first one at the kitty table. I know which bowl is mine and I always eat it right up. No matter what flavor. Treats are ok, but nothing to get up and run around about. And I'm usually taking a beauty nap when my humans are eating their food, so I don't eat any of that stuff!

6. What does a day in the life of Nadette look like?
My very favoritest thing is laying in bed with Meowmy. First, she has to be lying on her back, so I get her to do that. Then I lay right on her and give her nose kisses. For a loooooooong time! Then I will put my paw around her neck and my face right next to her nose and mouth where it will keep me nice and warm. Then we go to sleep. And if we could do that alllllll day, I would be happy. As it is, when she has to get up, I just take her spot in the bed!

It's finally my turn!

1. How did you come to your furrever home?
I was 2 1/2 months old, and living at the shelter in a cage full of other kittens. One day, in came Meowmy and her family, and she just couldn't resist me. She had always wanted an orange tabby, and I was the cutest of the bunch. The others in her family were skeptical that I was healthy because I was feeling a little sleepy that day, while all of the other kittens were playing, but Meowmy wouldn't have it any other way. A few days later I was brought to my furever home.

2. You look like a spokesmodel cat. If you were going to be a spokesmodel, what would you represent?
I would represent ADFA blankets, because I love them! They are the best kind of blankets to take a nap on. I start purring when I see one!


3. Are you wild and crazy, or a laid back kinda kitty?
I'm more of a laid back kind of kitty. Occasionally I do run around the house crazily.

4. What is the one thing that will bring you running every time?
My food! And of course a treat.


5. Do you go outside? Do you like it if you do? If not, do you like watching birdies and squirrels and such?
I used to go outside, and I loved it! But then my next door neighbor shot me, and now I have to live inside. I do like to watch the birds and squirrels out of the window, even though I would rather be out there with them.


6. If another cat came into your life, what would be your advice about living with your Meowmy?
She may seem very annoying at times. She will be always petting you and fussing over you, but remember, it is all because she loves you!

1. How were you adopted?
My Nana's friend at work found me when I was lost. She couldn't keep me because she already had enough cats of her own. She also works for a cat rescue group, so she was going to put me there, if no one at work was interested in me. She showed my picture to my Nana. My Nana called my mommy and told her what a cute little kitten I was. My mommy then told my Grampy about me. They were desperate for a kitten because my older sister, wouldn't leave our older brother alone. So they figured I'd keep Luna busy, and we'd have so much fun together, that we wouldn't bother our older brother. At the very last minute of the work day, my Nana told her friend she would take me. My Nana and mommy came to get me that night.

2. What are your favorite things to do?
I love fetching mr. ball when my mommy throws him, but everyone has to watch me closely. See I also like to eat mr. ball. (aluminum foil just tastes so good). I love playing with mr. straw, my mommy throws him, and I try to catch him, before Luna can. I like sitting on the bookshelf in the livingroom, and watching everything that goes on outside. Outside is good from a distance. Also I love grooming my sister, she's like a big fluffy furry marshmallow.

3. What is your favorite food?
Turkey. I got to have turkey on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I can't wait to have it again. I also really like lettuce. I don't normally go crazy for human food, but when they have salads on the table, I'm right there to sneak some lettuce out of their plates.

4. Do you like to play with Luna a lot?
Yes. I try to play with her every moment of the day. And I don't understand why at times she pushes me away, so she can take a nap. I mean come on, who wants to sleep when there's so much to do and explore?

5. Have you ever been outside?

How did you like it?
I hated it. The last time I was outside, was the last time I ever saw my cat mommy, and my 3 kitten siblings. My cat mommy was afraid of something. So she took us away from our farm. It was the middle of the night. It was dark, very hot, and humid outside. It was so dark, I couldn't even see anything. Then I don't know what happened, 1 minute we were all together. The next minute I was all alone. I kept calling them, but they didn't come. Instead I saw bigger animals (coyotes, fishercats, owls) coming towards me. I knew I wasn't safe, and that I needed to get moving, and keep moving quietly. Only I didn't know where to keep moving to. I was alone, afraid, hungry, tired. It was awful. My pads hurt from all the running I had to do. Finally I came to a farm. I thought it was my farm. I started calling for my cat mommy and kitten siblings again, but they never came, instead my Nana's friend heard me, came outside picked me right up, and brought me into her house. I was only 3weeks old then, but I never forgot how scary the outside is.
Now I never want to go outside, because I've found that every time I go out that door, I end up at the vet. Since all doors lead to the vet, I try to avoid the door at all costs.

Yeyeye!!! Gracie's Turn!!! Thank you My4LLMA Oh yeah - I get poked and prodded constantly - recently I even got abducted, drugged and cut into pieces (my mouth, that is), I think by Aliens called Dentists... These Aliens were amazing, after I came back from their experiment, I had no more pain!
But anyways... Aside from the poking and prodding, I get tons of love, good food, a warm bed, companionship as meowmy works right next to me... There is no more wondering if I will have food or if I will be cold tonight... Meowmy is giving me something that makes me feel all better too... my legs feel better, my body feels better, and I even breathe better too! Life is good right now!

[*]How do you like being a show cat? What do you like the most about it, what do you dislike the most?

I absolutely detested being in cat shows. My human mother, that is Samantha, put me in around 5 cat shows as a kitten and I put up with them for awhile and the last 1 or 2 I just couldn't handle being at anymore. So I started hissing and growling and then I stopped having to go I was put in one as an adult and that was so I could become a champion I didn't like anything about cat shows
[*]Sorry for the indiscretion, but I have to ask... How is it to have kittens? Do they annoy you so much you want to run away, or you like them for the most part?

I've had 4 litters of kittens so far and I really loved having the first 3 litters but I'm almost 4 and getting quite tired now. So to show my human mother that I didn't like it anymore I decided to stop washing the kittens bums and to be what Samantha describes as a "slack mother". She is good to me though and she takes the kittens away between 7-8 weeks so I can have some peace. Because I usually have big litters of 5. I do love them for the most part though and this year I even adopted my daughter Fluffy's kitten, my granddaughter, when she was a day old. I can never run away Samantha keeps such a close eye on me and our backyard is almost escape proof!

[*]Indiscretion #2: Your arranged boyfriends.... Do you like them at all? Have you ever had one you couldn't stand it?

I've had three boyfriends. The first one was one of Samantha's kitty sons, Sapan, and he was quite friendly. We had a whole bedroom to ourselves and I missed him so much when he went back to his house. The second one was quite a nice guy, really quiet though. The third one lived an hours plane ride away and I stayed there for a month. I missed my home while I was gone but Cody and I were best buds. My fourth litter was to Sapan again.
[*]How does your meowmy play with you, and what is your favorite game?

She plays with the feather toys but I really love scratching posts and cat nip!
[*]Do you get to go outside at all?

Nope! I have been outside from time to time. I love eating grass! but Samantha quickly hauls me back in.

I have only taken a few baths in my life time can you believe? and the most recent was on Monday. I thought that I hated them and so did Samantha but it wasn't so bad, and the warm water felt so good on my milk build up! It felt good to have my fur all scrubbed too! I don't mind the hair dryer, but Samantha mainly towel dried me on Monday.
[*]What is your favorite sibling and why?

All my siblings are in heaven. My ill informed breeder had my siblings put to sleep because the entire litter had ringworm. She knew that Samantha wanted me otherwise I would have joined them. Out of the kitties here I don't really mind Elmo. I can absolutely not stand Sophie - I try and beat her up at every opportunity I can get. Brie is my daughter and she is lovely. Gypsy is a bossy cow and she tells me what to do [Australians!] and I haven't had a lot to do with Mushroom, even though he's my grandson.
[*]What about the least favorite? Why?

Oops described above I don't like Sophie because I'm a protective mother I suppose!
[*]Describe a day in Flutterby's life

Now that I'm almost 4 I take things at a quieter. Get up around 7am and since I live in a bedroom with Brie and Gypsy I usually take a bite to eat from the communal feeding station and a long drink of water. If Gypsy is not in the window I'll do some sunning and clean my fur ready for the day. This is kind of on a repeat cycle. When Mummy lets us out for runs I head straight to the nearest scratching post even though I have 2 in my bedroom because I love to scratch! and then I head for Elmo's jellymeat

[*]If you had one wish, and one wish only, what would it be?

Sleep on Samantha & Jacob's bed every night!

I really like kitten dryfood, but I'm not allowed to eat that. All treats are of course very good for me, and I love it if someone brings me 'junk quality' wet food.

Probably my dad, Kuura. We like to wrestle, even though he always wins. Luna likes to play with me too, but she's a girl and it's too embarassing to lose a wrestle with her.

It's been dark now during the winter, but in the summer my favourite spot is the living room window sill.

* First of all I'd like to ask about your name. How did you get it? My furry mom is sometimes called Dushka too.

As your fur mom is Russian that does not surprise me. I got my name because I was very sick with a lung infection when Mioumi found me abandoned in the street in Sarajevo, Bosnia, which is where I was born and she was living. I was only a few weeks old and living on scraps from a shop. The vet did not think I would live but Mioumi made a pouch where I lived for several weeks and kept warm next to her, and she fed me my food and medicine with a syringe. As I got better, she said I was a real fighter with lots of spirit, and that is what my name means - little female spirit. It is the same in Bosnian and Russian as the two languages are very similar.



*How old are you and how long have you lived with your meowmy?

I am now eight years old, and apart from the first three or four weeks of my life, I have always lived with Mioumi. I was the first of her Bosnian cats and I hated it when she brought in others that I had to share her with. But I am glad that she brought ius all to France with her when she moved - we thought we might be left behind!

*What are your favorite toys like?

I like anything with catnip in it - it really sends me into a spin! I growl and kieep the others away whenever I sense that special smell of 'nip.

*Is there a kitty in your family that you look up to and maybe try to mimic them?

Certainly not! I am the Alpha here, and everyone knows it, even Tasha the dog, who rolls over and goes submissive if I come near her. I growl and hiss if anyone disturbs me and no-one (except occasionally that pest Milo) dares come near me when I am asleep or resting in my special hammock on the radiator.

*Do you have any other species, like doggies, in your kingdom? If you do, do you like them?

I cannot think why Mioumi wanted to bring that nasty smelly dog, Tasha, into our house. She keeps trying to play with me (at least, I think that is what her tail shaking and tongue licking mean) but I just growl and even swat her and she goes away. Since I do not go outside any more since my adopted brother Napoleon died, I have nothing to do with the other animals, the ponies, but I can sometimes smell them on Mioumi's boots and I like the smell. I have heard Mioumi say that she is going to get a 'goat' in the spring, but I have no idea what that is yet, or whether it will live with us in the house or out in the fields.

*Do you like to travel? Any favorite place you like to visit?

I am a very well-travelled cat, having been born in Bosnia and brought on a two-day car journey across Europe to our final home in France. We crossed through Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and Belgium to get here. I have a passport and the jabs I need to travel, but Mioumi thinks it is better if we do not go with her when she disappears off occasionally. I miss her then and I would like to go with her to the place called 'Britain'.

*Where do you sleep your nights, any regular spot?

My spot is with Mioumi, in the place where I have slept ever since she first brought me home. As soon as she is in bed I jump up, and tell her with my paw that I want to sleep and she moves to make room for me under her arm. and holds up the duvet so I can creep underneath. I curl up with my head on her shoulder and sleep there till morning. Sometimes when I jump onto the bed I see Persil already in MY place, but I only have to growl and she moves away at once. As if Mioumi would let anyone else sleep next to her under the covers.

Aw!

1. Are you an indoor cat or are you allowed outside? Have you always been the same? Do you ever want to be different?
I do go outdoors a little. At one time, I used to live under a trailer, and was cold and didn't get enough to eat. Then Meowmy saw me and started leaving me food and water. So I decided to let her take me to her house where I can sleep on the bed as much as I want. In return, I do get to go outside in our back yard and walk along the fence and catch mouses, but I don't go far and I always come back.

2. What are your favourite foods and treats? Can you remember the nicest thing you ever ate?
I LOVE people food. When I was living under the trailer, Meowmy shared her yogurt every day with me, and her turkey from turkey sandwiches. My favorite things are deli ham and turkey, and once, I ate GUACAMOLE and I LOVED it!

3. Where does your name come from? Is it because you are like a lion and if so what lion traits do you have?
My Meowmy had 2 reasons for naming me Elsa. She was taking a class when she found me, and the silly book had a girl named Elsa having to do all sorts of computer things. Plus, she saw a movie a long time ago called Born Free, and the big kitty's name was Elsa, and I was a wild kitty, so she thought that was a good name.

4. Do you like living where you do and in a large household of other cats? Do you have special friends and how do you show it?
I really don't like the other kitties here to be honest. Tigger was ok when she was here, and I've been here the second longest, but all the other kitties are mean to me. Smudge chases me, Nadette growls at me sometimes, and Clyde just ignores me. But I have my spot on the bed where no one bothers me.

5. How do you show your love for your Meowmy and how does she respond?
I am very sweet and quiet, Meowmy can't even tell when I purr. But whenever she is in her bed, I make sure to keep her company, and I love getting pets and skritches. Also, Meowmy's skin-son likes me the best of the kitties, and he pets me and loves on me. <3

1. Your name is so interesting, how did you get it?
When I was in the shelter before my meowmy adopted me my name was Smudge and I had been given that name since I was a kitten as I have a small smudge mark just below my nose but meowmy didn't think it suited me, so she swapped it to Fudge as its really similar to Smudge but suited me better

2. Would you say you are more wild or laid back?
I am a very nervous girl, I tend to stay on my own alot and sleep under meowmys bed for most of the day, when its quiet I come doen for food and toilet. I do talk to my other siblings on occasions but I prefer to be on my own, I hate noise

3. What is your favorite toy to play with?
I don't really play to be honest, I love getting on my meowmys bed at night when she goes to bed and have lots of cuddles, thats our special time

4. I know I'm not real happy with having feline siblings. How about you?
They don't bother me too much as I don't interact with them really, I prefer to be on my own or have my special time with meowmy, I will talk to them when I have to but thats it

5. I see that you only have 3 legs. Do you still like to jump?
Yes, I can still get around fine and I do jump on things and when its summer and we go out in the garden with meowmy I walk along the fence, havin 3 legs hasn't changed me at all, apart from I have to rest sometimes as if I've been doing alot my front paw aches sometimes

6. What would be the perfect day for you, including treats, going outside, or other activities?
Hmmmm, my perfect day would be a totally quiet day with no interruptions and meowmy cuddling me on her bed and rubbing my belly

I have never met one but I'll probably say no as I don't really like other people and animals that much

1. Mushroom is a very interesting name. I think it suits you perfectly. But, do you agree? How did you come to be named Mushroom? And, since you're a show kitty, do you have another special name that is used for when you're shown?

Thank you for the compliments, dude! I think it suits me too. It gets changed to a lot of things. Mushy, Mushymoto, Mushyman, Mushyboy, Mushymushy, Shroomshroom. LOL You get the idea my old lady is crazy. My siblings and I were orphans at 4 weeks old and my sister was the fattest tubbiest little kitten even though she had no Mummy and so she got called Badger. I didn't have a name at that stage and the old lady kept singing Badger Badger Badger Badger Mushroom Mushroom..so that's how Mushroom came about!

My show name is Captivating Peek A Blue - the old lady thought she was terribly clever with that. There are oodles of cats which get called Peek A Boo....boring but since my colour is blue..I was Peek a Blue! This year I hope to get some additions to my show name. Maybe Double Grand Champion?



2. Are you going to be bred? Have you already fathered kittens? If you are going to be bred, are you looking forward to it? Do you have your eyes on any special female that you'd like to go "steady" with?

Yup I'm going to be bred. I was a funny little kitten my old lady says and she kept me because she could see potential in me. Since both my parents have died I am very special and I will be fathering kittens. I keep trying but yeah.... awkward

I have my eyes on all the girls dude! especially all the girls here Flutterby, Brie & Gypsy! I've had a chance with Brie and my Aunty cat Bluey but no such luck.. there's always next year! Yes I am looking forward to it

3. Do you enjoy being shown? I know you do really well at shows, but what is it like? Is it fun? Or, is it hard work?

As a kitten I loved shows. I don't know what it will be like as an adult. I absolutely lovvvvvvve being patted and getting attention but I don't like being held so I don't want annoying peeps to hold me for too long!

I love being a clown in my cage and doing funny stuff like going for a poo in my fancy blankets or ripping up my show curtains or trying to whack every person who walks past. It makes the day go quicker I don't like being carried though! gosh can't people see that


4. I know you've just recently come to live with your meowmy. How do you like living with her and your new family? Is it a lot different than where you lived previously?

I was born here The old lady says she's proud? I think that's the word. I'm a 2nd generation Captivating so I've got my roots here. I wish I had gotten to know my fur mummy Tales though, the old lady says she was a right character!

5. Enough about business, let's talk about play! What is your favorite game? What toy is your favorite? Do you have a best friend to play with?

My favourite game is chasing leaves in the back yard! ohhhh boy that is fun or playing with the old lady's hair do when she puts me on her shoulders. I like to play with feather toys, they are what the judges use at cat shows so I only get to play with them occasionally. I don't have a best friend at the moment I hassle all the girls apparently and I chase Sophie and I'm too rough for the kittens Elmo is my friend but I wouldn't say we were besties


6. What kind of food do you eat? Do you like it? Is there a special treat that is your absolute favorite? Is there anything that you don't like to eat? And, finally, what is one food that you would love to have, but aren't allowed to have?

I eat Royal Canin Persian 30. They are a crunchy brown biscuit. Quite delicious actually and I never get sick of them. I'm allowed to eat any sort of jellymeat or raw meat I'm allowed but it's real funny whenever the old lady gives it to me I bury it I really only like my biscuits

Nope no muscles for me. Daddy actually makes fun of me because Im a big sissy. When I was born on the farm Mommy was still grieving for Hercules I and when I was born she was still looking for the perfect namesake to carry on the name Hercules and when she saw me it was BAM this is a Hercules. She originally picked the name Hercules because one of her favorite Disney movies is Hercules and she love the song Zero to Hero. Even though I have no muscles Mommy loves me anyways because Im her big love bug.


2. Who gave you the name Hercules?
Mommy.....according to Daddy she gives out the weird names and he picks the normal ones.....Hmmm who named my sister Bacon...oh yeah...Daddy lol


3. Do you like to bother Franklin? do you beat him up or does he beat you up?
I like Franklin...sometimes... He is a good nap buddy, we like to look out the big window together and we share woobie blankets. Sometimes he is annoying because he bounces around like an idiot but I just yowl at him and walk away.

4. What is your favourite place to hide from your Mum, Dude? (Give me some ideas)
The bookshelf. A long time ago Daddy built Mommy a HUGE bookshelf for all of her Nora Roberts books and its perfect for scratching on and sleeping on. There is even a nice back to the shelf that I can lean up against so I dont fall off. I also am the window kitty. You know when you get to Mommys house because Im ALWAYS in a window, I love to sun myself and stretch out in front of the windows, Daddy is even thinking about building me some shelves in front of the windows that will go into my bedroom so I can sun myself even more. Oh and watch out for pizza boxs......I love to sleep on pizza boxes.

5. Is life different now that your family has TV - do you get as much attention
I actually get more. Im a tv kitty, I like to sit in front of the tv and watch and since I like to lay on the back of the couch I just lay behind Mommy and put my feet on her neck and she gives me toe scritches. Mommy does go out of her way to make sure I get attention because Im such a low key kitty. Im not in her face like my sisters are.


6. Do you like to play on your Mum's crochet?
Yes...I love yarn and I love to sleep on her finished work. My favorite yarn though is her fluffy stuff that shes making a woobie blanket out of. Its so soft and warm and squishy. My sisters even told me a rumor that she is making us a woobie blanket for the bookshelf. Ive got my paws crossed that she is because that would be awesome.


7. What has been the best day of your life so far?
The day Daddy said that Mommy could have a kitty. She begged begged begged and begged till Daddy finally let up on his NO PETS rule. Before I lived with Mom and Dad I lived in a barn and it was cold and sad because I didnt have lotsa love all the time. I remember the car ride over and when I saw her again it was the best day ever. Even Daddy never regretted letting me come live with him because we became best buddies, I would even wait at the door for him to get off work and then we would relax on the couch together. Daddy likes me even more because I was the reason Daddy got Fatman, he was the bestest brother ever.


8. What is your favourite thing to do?
Sleep. I sleep all the time, sometimes Mommy thinks Im her coma kitty. Sometimes I play with the laser light or with my sisters but most of the time I just like to lay down and snuggle with Mom and Dad.
