Needing some help yall!!

Ok, here's the deal....I have decided to adopt Shalee, my sd,,,,,her bio mom hasn't been around in years...well, I do know we have to get her permission for this, and I believe she is still living in this area somewhere.....How can I go about finding her social so I can find out where she is? we are going to hire a lawyer eventually, but I just figured it would be cheaper to find her ourselves first instead of paying a lawyer to do it...any suggestions? thanks!

Isn't there a way to go about finding people on the internet? I wish I knew more about how to do it, but I believe there is a way to find people.

I do believe there is, and I think that it is going to cost something..I am thinking maybe running an add in the newspaper asking her to get in touch with me or if anyone knows her whereabouts, to please call me reguarding child support issues...

If she ever recieved state aide you may be able to get her SS# from that, Check school records, Doctors/Dental records(Shaylees as they sometimes require parents SS#) The social security office may be able to help through date of birth ect.
The District attorny's office should track her down for child support.

Ok, I got it...thanks yall...all I had to do was call the public records in the county where they divorced at, and they gave it to me...Thanks anyway!
