It is an ebook reader. We didn't do anything for Christmas or birthdays last year, so we got this to share. It is the Sony reader, and it will come in so handy for time spent sitting around the cab stands. I got tired of carrying big, heavy books, so I have not been getting my reading in. DH keeps the laptop with him most of the time, so I will probably get most of the use out of it. I love to read!

I love my Sony Reader! I got the pocket edition last year. It's plain and simple but it does what I need it to do.

Most of the books I've read are classics and were free downloads.

I've been mulling over getting one. Just wasn't sure that I could get over the turning of pages and handling a book. There is just something wonderful about opening a book to read that first page. I read a lot, I'm currently reading through Oprah's book club and the mound of books around my house is getting pretty big! lol!

My Mom has the Sony Ereader and she loves it! When I download books for my Kobo, I just keep them on my laptop and then load up her Sony for her when she needs me to because she doesn't have a computer.

I had that fear as well, until I held my mom's Kindle in my hands with a cover on it. You get the feel of a book (the size and weight) as well as the illusion of a turning page (with the eInk screens, there's a brief delay when going to the next page).

If you want to check out different kinds, I'm pretty sure Best Buy has several different brands available in their store to pick up and hold.

And krazy kat, you're going to love it and you'll never want to put it down. I feel more lost without my Kindle than I do my cell phone!

I got a Kobo reader for Christmas; haven't downloaded a single thing yet
Of course, I probably have 100 paperbacks stacked on my stairs, so downloading a book isn't a huge priority for me at this point. I would really rather download magazines, but I haven't looked for a good site yet. The one site I did find mags on didn't have the sort that I like to read.
Hope you enjoy your new reader!

Dottie got a Kindle from her mother, who got it from Dottie's brother. Neither of them had used it, and Dottie didn't, either, until she found herself sitting around all day waiting for students to finish their driving test. Now she loves it.

It has a cover, so it feels a lot like a book, but you can use it one-handed without the pages blowing in the wind.

And, once again, I'll get one when I can get my magazines in that form.

Awesome! I got a kindle for my birthday last year and I love it! I use it all the time! When we go on vacation I always take a few books along...now I can take tons without needing a whole separate bag for them!
